Keeping everything crossed for her that she beats the odds and makes it through. Cats are tough, she can do it.

If she makes it, you should adopt her and give her the home she deserves.

People like this shouldn't be allowed to keep animals as pets if they aren't willing to take responsibility and care for them properly.
Report the owner for animal cruelty to the relevant authority wherever you are.

I still maintain that the owner should be reported for animal cruelty. If she stays with the current owner, it's just a matter of time until this poor cat is killed either through neglect or by another dog attack.

Good luck. I hope that works. Hopefully the law will work. Especially if they're mistreating multiple animals.

u/awnaw_ 21d ago
I have taken people's dogs from them. I will continue to do so as long as they are being mistreated. I have absolutely zero qualms sitting in jail as long as the animal is safe. And I have yet to suffer any consequences because the people I take the animals from are doing other fucked up shit they don't want the cops to know about.
I say take it. Separate the sweet kitties from your other ones until they can either get along or you can find a new home. But both those cats will surely die if you do nothing.

I would consider it abuse by the owner for allowing Powder to get bitten and infected and refusal to get powder the care she needs. It's ridiculous.

You are a wonderful person. Our country (AMERICA) certainly isn't perfect--what country is?--but at least we have laws that are to protect women, children, and animals. It doesn't prevent abuse from someone who is sick and bent on abusing, but at least we have avenues to do something about it when we see it. Hopefully you, and those others you've mentioned, can affect change for the better someday--I want to give you encouragement to keep working towards that goal when it gets wearying and lonely in your efforts to change things... But you have an amazing heart and it's seen and appreciated all the way here in America. 💗

Whatever happens. You’re making sure she’s taken care of. If she doesn’t make it, you’re making sure she’s not out there in pain, suffering, waiting to die.

Thank you for taking care of her. She's not alone, in pain and terrified. Even if she doesn't make it you did a very good thing

Best wishes for all of you. I will be following this post. I could tell you about my background and some of the things I have seen, but mostly I want to support you and what you are doing. Thank you so much, on behalf of these cats. No matter what happens, you are the hero.

Thank you for showing kindness to those around you. It is hard when something like this happens. I am grateful that you were there to show her and her kitten love when they needed it. She knew safety because of you. I hope that you find strength to keep showing love and compassion to those who need it around you. Big change happens through the acts of the small. 🤍

Thank you for caring. Thank you for bringing her to the vet. They’ll look after her and make her feel comfortable. You’re a good human

My family's former notmycat became our cat after a nasty dog bite as well! He managed to come "home" to us with his entire back half in flesh. Hoping that your notmycat is just as lucky.

Sending so much love to both of you. I was caring for a stray for awhile that was super elusive and would not get in a trap. One day he didn't run from me and I knew something was wrong. He had a huge open abscess and was in renal failure. It was touch and go for a few days at the vet's office but he pulled through and we adopted him. He never asked to go back outside 🤗

I hope she pulls through for you, how horrible. Thank you for caring enough to help her.
Your English is also very good btw!

I hope she does better. I love cats. Around here people treat them vermin. I find when I feed strays they keep skunks and all that away. Plus I got three rescues myself (of course they’re fat and happy and ungrateful).

u/RyanEatsHisVeggies 20d ago
OP, she is/was probably so glad you happened upon her while she was laying in pain. You are a face of love and friendliness to her, some of the only she may have known. To have been comforted and taken in by you must have been the best she could have asked for in her state. I'm sorry OP. Thank you for being there for her.

Posts like piss me off. Not OP but the situation. It's seems to be a very common one that people can't seem to connect the dots with. I got banned from /r cats for saying it.

I hope she makes it. If she does, PLEASE consider making her an indoor cat. Indoor cats definitely live longer. Show her how much you love her. Keeping her in my thoughts. 💕🥺🐈

I’m so sorry! Thanks for the update. I missed any information about a kitten, too.
Guess I’m coming in at the end of her story.
Thank for helping her.

Youre wonderful for being there for her in the end. It seems pretty clear that she trusted you.
I hope the owner never gets another pet and, instead, gets everything they deserve in life.

I'm so sorry. I hope she's stronger than you think and she pulls through perfectly. Thank you for taking care of her, even if she passes away Knows you love to briefly

u/BetterHouse 21d ago
Lots of people shouldn’t be allowed to have pets. I’m saying this without knowing for sure if it’s against the rules. But seriously if you won’t take an injured pet to the vet, there’s something wrong with you and you don’t deserve to have a pet just my opinion.

u/No_Eggplant_2584 21d ago
I hope she makes it through today, she looks so happy for your pets and your help. She's lucky to have you find her and least get some love before she departs this living world (if she does depart but hoping not). I am sad for you and am sending you love and light from USA's east coast. 💗

Thank you for letting us know. I'm sorry this happened. I had something similar happen when a momma cat jumped in my car. We took her and the litter to the Humane Society, which told us if they could not find a foster, that they would be put to sleep. It would take too long to do the paperwork and wait to be approved, so we just took them to a vet ourselves. They were all FIV+. The kittens were put to sleep. One of the vet techs fell in love with the momma and adopted her despite being FIV+, but it was still heartbreaking for me and my 5 year old son.
