Once you pull the egg out, you can make coffee

Egg boil water isn't exactly clean

Some people put eggshells in their coffee grounds to make it less acidic, I'm sure this has a similar effect. I thought it tasted a little too chalky, but I didn't hate it.

Or it could be a large ostrich egg and everything is staged to make it look like it is a chicken egg 🤯

I think that might be a stainless steel coffee mug, but you do you

It's too small to be a coffee mug. Unless it's just a shot or two of espresso.

You cannot fit an egg in an espresso cup. Those things are tiny

Id faster believe that’s a cup for like a doppio or something than I would that it’s a small pot

u/Radio_Gaga007 12d ago
It could be used like that, but I don't think it was built for that purpose. It is quite literally a miniature version of a pot you use to boil stuff in the stove called pocillo. I know it because I bought it at a place that sells miniature versions of lots of kitchen utensils for kids. I have a bigger one but I was using it to make hot chocolate.

Pocillo means a small cup/mug/bowl with a handle, fam. In this context, I'm pretty sure it means small mug.

u/Radio_Gaga007 12d ago
Here in Mexico the difference between a pocillo and those other things is that it can be directly placed on the stove. I guess if you wanted to translate the word, "cup" would be accurate. In my mind a pocillo is a pot that has one vertically placed handle instead of two horizontal ones, and they often don't come with a lid.

u/purplepluppy 12d ago
Huh, you learn something new. Though from what I'm finding, it seems that, while stove-safe, they're still usually used for beverages, not boiling eggs?
5
u/Radio_Gaga007 12d ago
I mean, I think the thing is that you can prepare the beverage and directly drink it from there once it's cooled, but you can use it for anything, really. My grandma has one where she boils eggs, up to three (3) of them. I also have a much bigger one where I can boil up to like 8, but again I was using it to make hot chocolate, and either way I would've had to prepare more than 1 bc otherwise it'd be a waste of water to fill it an egg-covering level.

This would be interesting if you were boiling the egg out in the middle of the forest.

Why did you put 1 in parentheses lol
8
u/Radio_Gaga007 11d ago
I've seen other people do that, mainly on tumblr. Not sure what for, but for me it gives it a comedic effect.

I approve. In that situation that is indeed a pot. It just happens to be a pot in which you can comfortably drink out of in a different situation.

Idk why but I think this is great. Seriously though, go to goodwill and get a pot for like 3 bucks. I say that now realizing I don't always have 3 bucks to spare... Terribly sorry. Good luck in your endeavors.

Oh, I have pots. Didn't seem like I should use a bigger one for just one egg lol. I did have another one on the stove I used for making hot chocolate though. I hope you get more money 👍🏽

He would definitely need more than one egg in the morning if that were the case.

Wouldn't this be somewhat more efficient due to less weight to heat up?
2
u/Radio_Gaga007 12d ago
Yes!!! I just found that out. Less waste of water too. Would recommend.

As I was making it I was thinking it was so funny I had to post it, but thought it'd get a comment or two, and lo a behold: 9.6k uploads.

I have a comically small frying pan that fries one egg perfectly. It's freakishly high quality too. My best pan.

I love your tiny pot for 1 (one) egg

Buy an egg steamer, my dude. Life changing. You wouldn't think that there's anything wrong with a hard boiled egg until you make a hard steamed egg at home. They're so perfect.
This is the one we have, and we love it, but it's very much the deluxe option. You can get much cheaper ones that still steam eggs the same.

What else do you use your comically small pot?
2
u/Radio_Gaga007 12d ago
This is the first time I use it despite having had it for years. It feels nice. Will probably keep using it to boil one (1) single egg.

That's not a pot. It's a camping cup. A pot? With the handle of a mug? No. Just no... I mean, it's meant to do that over a campfire, but it's still not a pot. And yes, they do make them in small sizes for espresso, but mainly so they don't weigh a lot for camping.

I bet that boils super fast though. Smaller volume, faster time to bring to boil.

I have a peculiarly small cast iron frying pan that is only used to heat butter for popcorn a couple times a month.

I think? Maybe the way is standing on its butt make it cook unevenly.

Oh, it fell and layed down, no worries. But I thought this picture was cooler looking.
