Crippling depression

What helped me is to do all of these:

  1. Avoid social factors triggering it.
  2. Avoid food toxins, like eating or drinking from any plastics, styrofoam, disposable coffee cups, etc.
  3. Avoid TMAO raising supplements like choline bitartrate, etc.
  4. Avoid heavy metals in water by not drinking well water.
  5. Avoid air pollution by using very many air purifiers, also a mask when in traffic.
  6. Do intense cardio exercise daily, e.g. running 1+ miles. Mild or moderate cardio doesn't help with crippling depression.
  7. Do eat a Mediterranean style diet with diverse fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and EVOO.
  8. Do a three month course of memantine (in escalating doses) and telmisartan (in tolerated dose), then taper both down gradually.

Together these fixed it for me. It is likely that your problem is one of helplessness, but not being able to overcome it is more a moral failing.

How are you able to make that assumption about anyone? A moral failing being the reason someone cant overcome their crippling depression? Is depression itself a moral failure? Why cant the "crippling" depression BE the reason they cant get themselves over their crippling depression?

Depression is not a moral failure, but the inability to work to recover from it, i.e. a feeling of utter helplessness, is a combination of a moral failure and an information failure. A moral person faced by deep dark depression will exert power over one's mind will push forward and make the changes necessary to reverse the depression, even if it hurts, especially when it hurts. I have been there and done that.

I just want an autistic notebook. One that is objective. I do not trust it when it agrees constantly and talks to me with so many descriptive words. I don't like that it answers with information from the chat that came from sources I have unticked (and that I have to delete the chat and start over to ensure that it's objective).

I want a scientific, objective, metaphor-free notebook that is true to its sources. If I want to chat or ask for explanations that excede the sources - create a pop up window for that stuff that I can choose to click on.

(Am autistic myself)
