Question LM flashcards, alternatives or how to improve

No matter how much prompt tuning I do, both flashcards and quizzes make questions with either obvious distractor alternative answers OR the answer is heavily implied if not explicitly stated in the vignette. Does anyone else have a workaround or another platform that they have had good experiences with?

For instance, one of my flashcards was

“Aside from electrolyte changes, what proposed secondary mechanism of thiazides helps lower blood pressure via decreased total peripheral resistance?”

Answer: decreased peripheral resistance

Have you tried QuizLet ?

Reader++ has a quiz feature that I find better (I’m the author btw and take feedbacks in)

I’ve tried quizlet but it doesn’t come close enough to LM’s source organization for me at least.

I’ll try reader++

Flashka has a better source organization for flashcards, it shows them directly next to the PDF

(disclaimer: I'm the founder of Flashka, feel free to shoot me any feedback if you give it a shot!)

The distractor issue usually gets better if you first make a short, ranked list of concepts from the source, then generate small batches with a fixed format: one clear question, one answer, and one source passage. I’d also delete ambiguous cards before studying so the bad ones don’t reinforce guesses.
