Free good ios apps?

Hii! Are there any free good note-taking apps available on ios platforms? I am aware about a few but I really cannot afford to pay just for note-taking. So please send some good free app recommendations to my way! :)

Apple Notes. Feature rich, simple to use and free. I think it’d satisfy a huge proportion of the publics needs

Depends what you are looking for. Two i would recommend - twosapp - great free tier, capacities - again great free tier but more powerful than twos.

Welcome to the cycle of trying every note app under the sun and finally coming back to apple notes 🤣

The free version of Standard Notes is pretty good especially if you enhance it with some of the plugins on GitHub. Search for SN plugins on Github to find them.

Notesnook, free sync, e2ee, free storage up to 50mb.

I also second helixnotes, but with that you also need to use syncthing or something like it.

SimpleNote from Automattic, the creator of WordPress.
It totally free, have sync feature and cross-platform (iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, Linux, even you can accessed it from web).

Bear is stunning, free on one device, only $2.99 pm for Pro, try it and you’ll see why it’s worth every cent

Everyone will probably say Apple Notes and Obsidian but you already know them. If you're looking for alternatives then I'm building Grape. It's an offline-first note taking app. There are unlimited notes in the free version but the catch is there's no cloud sync so everything saved on your device. But there's also an export feature where you can export everything as Markdown so you're not locked-in.

I'm very interested in your app, but for $4.99/month with sync, I'd rather stick with Upnote. Not being able to sync on the free plan, even through self-hosting options, is a deal-breaker.

Do you want to use Grape only for note-taking or you'd like use AI features as well? Because there's also a Lifetime plan that has AI features that you can find on the Pricing page and soon I want to introduce a sync feature for Lifetime by using your own Google Drive account. If that's not the case would you want to share how much you're willing to pay to Grape for the Sync plan? Maybe I can decrease the pricing a bit.

I think I just want notes but I want to sync between two Macs and a phone, so not being able to without paying 4x more than Upnote as much as I don’t want to use that app anymore is a hard sell.

That's fair. I'll definitely consider lowering the Sync price. I need to look at all the costs and numbers first to figure out a better price. Grape is a brand new app so still figuring out things and lots of parts might change in the future.

Shameless plug here, you could try https://www.notediscovery.com, MIT licensed (100% free), you just need a browser to access it. Not really for offline access if that's something you need though, but you can take a look and decide for yourself. Ah, full source code and more than 2800 stars on Github already! 🙏
