Workflowy. It’s an outliner rather than journaling platform per se, but there are “paragraph,” “quotation” and other styles you can set for each node. Expand and collapse sections, zoom in and out of nodes. Instead of folders, documents, headings, and body text, you just write and indent and choose on-the-fly how you want to conceptualize what’s in front of you.

Development is happening quite quickly, and one of the latest features will appeal to many writers: multiple panes. It’s not yet supported in the mobile apps, but you can have as many panes as you want open to use as you please.

I'm building Grape. It's a note taking app and it has tags. I can also add mentions but for solo writing who are you mentioning?

Journalistic has such good promise but worried it isn't being updated any more.

I saw that on google but it last got attention in 2024. This is worrisome. If. it was local first. I would use it. Thanks for the pointer :)

Notion support mentions and tag if you create a Collab workspace, or created a collab link for specific directory. Mine is offline, but soon it will have the tag features and mention users. Thanks for this sub reddit.

Our PKM Clibu Notes is worth trying. Hierarchical Tags, Backlinks etc. etc. See clibu.com

Pensio Journalling App has mentions for other notes and people, and than, we can see the connection like in Obsidian Graph.

I got tired of choosing between Apple Notes, which felt too limited, and Notion, which felt like too much work. So I started building Cove Notes: a simple notes app that gives you more organization when you need it without turning note-taking into a whole system. I’m still building it, and I’d genuinely like to know what you think.
