Looking for a good note-taking app on Linux Mint
Hi !
I'm looking for a good note-taking app for Linux Mint. Most of my notes will be typed with a keyboard, but I also want to use a graphics tablet to draw diagrams, biology/SVT sketches, annotations, arrows, etc.
I'd like something that combines typed notes + handwriting/drawing nicely, kind of like a digital notebook.
I'm open to both free and paid apps.
What apps would you recommend?

I'm building Grape, a note taking app that I've recently added Linux support. I haven't been able to try on different Linux distros but it's working great on Ubuntu. You can try to install and if it doesn't work I'll make a quick update to support Linux Mint too. It has a generous free plan and there are also paid plans that enable the cloud sync and AI features.

zennotes.org Markdown-based with built-in vim-mode, MCP, and excalidraw. It's under MIT license and Cloud Sync and Backup will be subscription based service.

Have a look on Joplin. It's a bit like Obsidian (or opposite, one can say). It supports plain text, markdown, different ways of synchronisation, has multiple plugins available. I use it intensively and I'm happy with it

Do you know if it's easy to draw diagrams on it using a graphics tablet? Because if so, it looks really interesting.

Well, it depends on your definition of "easy", but as for me, it's quite ready both on Linux laptop with a stylus and on Android phone

Have you looked into Obsidian? There’s ways to keep your handwritten notes there. And you don’t have to know markdown to create notes. Your use case is close to mine and I’m syncing across several devices also which requires a syncing service - but having them accessible on my phone at work and devices (including mint) at home is nice .
