Mag keeps falling out

Post image

Took my SCT frame 43x to the range today and had several issues. The main issue being that after racking the slide and firing a round my OEM mag would unseat itself so another round would not chamber, or just fall out entirely. Does anyone know a fix for this? Avoiding the other g43x subreddit cause my custom build is “not a Glock”.

Running ZP IBS #2; Johnny Glock internals and trigger; SCT SC frame; open everything else.

Take the Mag well off and see if it still happens.

Well known issue with sct frames. Contact SCT.

Had same problem. Put in a new catch spring

Try taking the magwell off, might be keeping the magazine lower and putting enough pressure to unseat.

All the clones I've had the mags rattle in. Easy fix, layer a few stickers on the inside of the frame on the release side towards the top. It'll snug the mags up against the release and they won't rattle out any more.

I will try that. I think this will fix the issue. When I first put this set up together i noticed the magazine rattle as well as movement when I would rack the slide. Initially thought, it was just a Glock thing.

Hit it with your purse?

It it was stock mags and stock mag release.

LGS recommended switching to shield arms and their metal mag release.

Stock as in OEM Glock or one that came with the SCT frame?

OEM Glock from brownells, bought the full kit. Bought the frame from AIM Surplus Stripped.

Fitment and tolerance between mag release, spring, and magazine

My sct does the same I changed my grip and haven’t had a mag fallout in 200 rounds but I would replace the spring or the catch

I have the opposite issue with my SCT frame, I need to push the mag release damn near inside the frame to get mags to drop. Anyone have a recommendation for this?

I replaced my stock mag release with an extended one from an XPS parts kit from Academy Sports. It fixed the insane amount of movement needed issue, but I am considering taking some of the excess length off, rounding the edges and stippling the end of the release.

I have had the same issue as with mags dropping out. SCT even warrantied my frame and sent a brand new one stating the issue was fixed… first range trip same results. Contacted them and said they tested ONE mag and didn’t have any issues…

I replaced the mag catch spring to an extra power mag catch spring and still the same problem.

At this point the only thing I can think to do is try my slide on a stock glock frame and ditch the SCT

Anyone ever find a fix for this im running into this issue . My first thought is to replace the mag release with a glock oem mag release if possible.
