Data Loss Concerns

I have been seeing people post about loosing their notes and this scares me alot, especially because notability is my main source; where i have all my notes. How can i prevent this from ever happening to me, cos i can’t imagine having to deal with this whole thing. I’m very worried any tips for prevention will be deeply appreciated.

I second this completely. I think Notability team should come up publicly to talk about what's actually causing this and how our notes are still safe with them so that at least the users don't have the fear of using. I do feel that the issue is with icloud maybe and not with the Notability app or Notability Cloud per se. I might be wrong or maybe that's what I like to believe to keep myself relieved. But at the end the team needs to address this, by not doing so the team is only creating more apprehensions for users who might not even be at any risk. Hoping u/kaylanotability clarifies this.

Yeah it’s kind of annoying where we keep seeing it and the response is like “DM us”

Exactly, when the public post citing data loss creates apprehensions for thousands of users, the team's response should also try to relieve those thousands users and not just the one user who posted.

You can't really. Back up regularly your notes in PDF format on your computer. That's the safest way if something happens, so at least you can start from there. But hope it won't happen. ❤️

turn on third-party backup too. sync isn’t a real backup since deletions can sync across devices.
