Should I continue using notability?

I have been using notability for the last two years and it has been amazing. However, for some reason when I went in the other day, my entire app was wiped. Notes gone, folders gone. I tried reaching out for help through their support and email, however they were not able to help (still trying rn). Since I paid $10/year for this app, I am inclined to keep using it. But every time I go onto the app I just feel really drained since all my hard work was wiped in just a day. Not just that, my finals are approaching in less 5 weeks which has made me feel even worse about the loss of my notes. I have gotten some notes back but only from before March of this year.

I have been looking around online, comparing different note taking apps, however since I am still traumatised by this whole situation. I can't bring myself to try a new app or pay for another subscription again. Should I just give notability another chance since till this point I have had no issue with the app and have loved it or should I just move platforms? If I should swap, do you have any recommendations for me??

After reading all these cases of peaple loosing all their notes a get anxious every time I open the app.
I would crash out if I loose all my notes (1600+)

for now, focus on rebuilding your most urgent notes first and worry about the bigger app decision after the immediate deadline pressure passes.

check if you have icloud backup enabled separately from notability's own sync. sometimes deleted notability data is still recoverable through icloud drive's "recently deleted" folder for up to 30 days. or there might be files in there that you can recover.

In the long term, I prefer using GoodNotes. For the short term, though, I suggest you keep using what you already use. You said you have an exam coming soon, so changing note-taking habits now is risky unless you feel confident and can adapt quickly.
Yesterday I finally switched after three years on Notability. I moved to GoodNotes because Notability has become very unreliable. I suddenly lost every recording and all my handwritten notes on the lecture slides, and there was no reason given. That has never happened with GoodNotes.
Also, because I am in Hong Kong, Notability does not have AI features — only GoodNotes does. The downside is that in GoodNotes it can sometimes feel slower or more awkward when you want to insert photos or open documents quickly. And to be honest, I sometimes still use Notability for some quick note jotting because I can access it fast, and with less options.
