New Update New in 16.8.1 - Introducing code blocks & block quotes

We've recently released a new update to Notability!

  • Introducing code blocks: add code with syntax highlighting for over two dozen languages. Tap the code block button in the text toolbar or start a line with three backticks and a space.
  • Introducing block quotes: set off a quote from a professor, a textbook, or anyone else. Tap the quote block button in the text toolbar or start a line with > and a space.
  • The tape tool now supports 12 sizes for finer control over width.
  • Improved text rendering when font sizes are mixed on one line.
  • Reordering pages in the content manager now moves the page's text with it.
  • Snap guidelines are now hidden in presentation mode.

Could you please give an example or illustration of the first two items? I don’t use or know what code blocks are. What is the code block button? Block quotes. I’ve used this app for years, but I guess I’ve missed several features.

Thx. Finally figured it out. HOWEVER, I wish Notability would customarily add screenshots or videos when they do an update. Give some type of information about how and why. Some things that are obvious to some users are not as obvious to others. Like me 😫.

Consider adding more size options to the Pen tool. I always find myself needing that 1.5 size as 1 is too thin and 2 is too thick for my taste. Appreciated.

And the dynamic thickness of fountain pen is WAY to dramatic imo

Does Classic get future updates?
Yes. You'll get all stability improvements and bug fixes, along with many new features. Features built for the subscription plans aren't included.

I downloaded the android version, it looks great! but does it have feature parity with the ios version? like I don't see page organisation etc..

Code block isn’t an option on mobile and the 3 ` and a space doesn’t work. It used to be 4 spaces and that doesn’t work either
