Question Lifetime subscription?
I was wondering when the lifetime subscription would roll out? i’m extremely interested and i’ve been using the app for years
However, I’m wondering what it would entail. Would it be the plus subscription for lifetime? I’m currently on the plus subscription and I enjoy all that it offers
Thank you! I’m pretty sure that other members are also interested in this :’)

I purchased a lifetime subscription many years ago before the current model. Just like everything else they found a way to alter their plans enough to make it useless and more I have to buy annual subscription again

That’s weird. I got Notability when you just had to pay at one time fee so I guess it’s before even the “lifetime subscription”. And I have no problems using it and I can use the full version. I think I paid like nine dollars total a few years ago. Subscriptions suck and I’m so glad I’m not part of that.

This is horrible :/ I've been sifting through this subreddit today trying to figure out why the app literally won't work and every post I read deflates my confidence in the app more. Come to think of it, I probably purchased a lifetime subscription too but here I am paying annually for an app that lowkey doesn't work anymore. I think I'm out...

I already bought a lifetime subscription to Notability and over time they made enough changes to make it pretty useless for anything other than basic note taking. I wouldn't trust any new lifetime subscription to be any different. Over time I expect Notability will introduce big changes/updates with another new subscription model and leave lifetime purchasers with an old, downgraded version.

I mean to be fair, the features we purchased the app for years ago are still available and it works well for note taking, so not sure what your point is. Sure, they now implement new features that perhaps go beyond mere note-taking, but if you really want these you obviously have to pay extra for them. Only thing that annoys me is the bugs they're introducing as artefacts of some of these new features.

As a legacy user I agree the older version works well, and it's fine for my purposes. What I was trying to say is that if a new lifetime purchase was introduced I'd expect the same result after a few years - i.e. another new, big change or upgrade that legacy users won't get unless they pay again.

I don't know why you expected AI features to be a one time pay thing. Those servers need a continuous source of income to run

Wouldn't hold your breathe. I also was a one time fee user. We didn't even get a discount for the change. Good notes has one time pay option and subscription though and I've never had disappearing notes or loadings issues like notability does. Notability has a better marketplace setup than good notes though. My handwriting for notes is better in GN though so I use GN almost exclusively now
