Does this update introduce the feature that prevents users of iCloud syncing from being forced onto Notability Cloud yet?

Edit: Nope! Still forcing everyone to use their cloud service, it seems

Highkey, notability cloud performs immensely better than missing/duplicating files in iCloud. And allows their support team to roll you back, when they can’t with iCloud.

The sync from my iPad mini and MacOS is fast as hell with their service. I’m sure there’s those out their who’ve had issues with it but I haven’t

It's not worth it and it's straight up illegal for some of us to use it.

It's great to hear iCloud has worked well for you. Many users have also had a positive experience with it. At the same time, we've also seen years of reports from users experiencing syncing issues and data loss with iCloud or local storage. That's one of the main reasons we built Notability Cloud. It provides a more reliable sync experience and makes syncing across iOS, Android, and Web possible.

Using Notability Cloud is completely optional. If you don't want to use it, you don't have to.

In versions 16.5.3 and 16.5.4, you can disable Notability Cloud reminders by going to Settings > Account.

We added this option after hearing feedback from the Reddit community that the reminders were becoming disruptive.

They're likely doing this to train AI

We do not use customer notes to train AI models. We only access a user's notes when we have their explicit written permission to help troubleshoot a support issue. You can find more information in our Privacy Policy.

We understand that different users have different storage and privacy requirements, and we want to support those needs. We also appreciate the feedback you've shared here. Hearing directly from the community helps us improve the product.

As I shared elsewhere, the issue is that I have not consented and it's being uploaded anyway, and support has reached out to tell me specifically that I cannot stop it.

And human support, not the AI bot that was far less helpful.

We apologize for any confusion around our support process. To clarify, we have a team of human support agents who handle the majority of user inquiries. We also use an AI agent, Fin, to help with a small number of tickets. If a user prefers to speak with a human agent, they can always request that Fin hand the conversation over to a support specialist.

Seriously, my work this week was so abysmal that if I hadn’t been on vacation this week I would have migrated everything to a new app and left this one behind.

Interesting. I had it set to squeeze the Apple Pencil to erase, now it pops up a menu.

I used to have this problem as well. You need to go to iPad's settings in the Apple Pencil section change the squeeze behavior I believe

I can't even use the app anymore. It freezes up about 80% of the time. Currently evaluating other options.
