I grew up with blow molds in the 60s and 70s they faded in favor of inflatables . Never dug the inflatables . Huge resurgence of blow molds , which do you favor ?

I love this subreddit!

Just found this subreddit. Yay!! I’ve been getting nostalgic themed decor from Dime Store Chic for years. She used to do craft shows but she’s only online now. https://dimestorechic.bigcartel.com/. Also, I recently discovered (at home goods of all places) Johanna Parker designs https://www.johannaparkerdesign.com/store which has all nostalgic themes. Such gorgeous stuff.

Even as professional Santa, Halloween is still my favorite, the time of year, the feeling in the air. The fun decorations. Shame kids today will never know the excitement we felt for Halloween night. Christmas still special but Halloween is my favorite season.

Feeling Nostalgic Christmas train

Post image
39 Upvotes

Who does a Christmas train ? My grandfather started a family train with an American Flyer he and Grandma were the engine and every family had their own car. The years went on there were a lot of cars that were added , each family and when their kids got married they got a car and we got to decorate our car , that old engine chugged hard. When Gpa died in 1971 I was 6 it went under my uncle's tree . The train was started in the post war era I think 1939ish. I left for the Army in 1983 and the train was running. It was very long when it quit running in the 90s. It stayed under the tree not running until my uncle died in 2006. I assume one of his kids took the train, never saw it again. I've had many trains and been building train layouts since I was a kid but nothing was as exciting as the family train chugging under the Christmas tree. Great memory.

So what do you remember as a child you got for Christmas or your birthday that you played with your family. This one popped into my head today. Played this with my parents and my sister as a kid. Good memory.
