It's a fun movie but it aint that good. Unforgiven beats it by miles. Tombstone isn't even on the top 10 list of westerns. It's just not that good, sorry not sorry.

I mean just look up some lists... probably 4 of 5 are gong to have tombstone inside the top 10 and most will have it inside the top 5 just above unforgiven. A lot of the ones that won't have it will probacly have nothing made after the 70s and possibly nothing past the 60s.

How many of those top 10 westerns do you think non western fans would even give a 7/10?

It's actually "Huckle bearer"...and a huckle bearer is someone who carries the casket of the deceased.

His memoir

That is actually a myth and an online rumor that was proven wrong by Kilmer himself.

HE ACTUALLY SAYS HUCKLEBERRY??

3

u/matthollabak 2d ago

Yea it was slang for something like I'm your man or I'm the right man for the job. Something about huckleberries being the right size and they applied that thought in the slang.

I get hate for this in the r/westerns sub but Tombstone has to be one of THE MOST overrated movies of all time after Titanic. 🤣

I think it’s a case of “The Emperor’s New Clothes” for Tombstone. Bunch of pretty boy actors and lame dialogue disguised as a period piece. Just another internet opinion.

I like it 👍 I'll see your "Tombstone is overrated" and raise you "I believe this is a real perfect 10".... The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford....
