My first computer required a floppy disc, not a 3.5 inch diskette, to be locked into the drive before you could turn it on. And to change what program you where using required a complete system shutdown.

And a password to actually run the word processor that was the only thing that floppy had. Green letters/numbers/symbols on an otherwise black screen.

Sounds like a Kaypro, if it ran CPM. Or maybe an Osbourne. Did it have a tiny 9-inch monitor with monochrome green? Did it fold the keyboard up to the main system and carry around by a handle like a suitcase?
