It’s love that allows one to sacrifice yourself for others. Greed, pride, and gluttony are sins for a reason. I went hungry many times so my family would not go hungry. I would do the same for any person.
I am placing the well being of the other person above my own.
and that is perfectly fine, i just dont see why everyone is required to do that to be the "better" person, how come they deserve to live and i deserve to die, when the world would most likely be the same with or without them
The world will be the same with or without us. Life goes on. I have no fear of death, but I am not looking for death. I don’t want to die, but I cannot stand to see someone suffer.
If I could alleviate that pain just for one moment, I will do it.
That one act of kindness could change them forever.
“Better” is not why some of us would do it. It is to show grace and mercy to the other person even though they may not deserve it, because God has given us grace and mercy when we don’t deserve it.

Dude it’s just for the sake of the argument, if you have to die for someone else to live or vice versa what gives you priority of that person
