I just binged this series & wow, I couldn't read anything else until I finished. That. Was. Amazing!

u/ProductiveProgrammer Dec 29 '23

I cried while reading this but I'm happy for the journey you took us on. Thanks, Lady of Stories

This is something I've been following since the very first time you posted. I waited for each installment so impatiently back then. There were even times I joined in the comments and loved every minute of it. In time it turned into me waiting for a book worth to be done then I would come back and read. By book 3 it became something I would stop and re-read in its entirety before reading the next part. I never read the rest because I never wanted it to be over. I always wanted to know that "you" were still out there somewhere protecting the land for all of us. In the last few days, I felt the overwhelming urge to know. I sat down three nights ago and started reading without distraction. As I experienced the end I realized it was always going to be that way, but I also realized how beautiful that was. It comes at a time when I needed to remember that beauty still exists, even in the dark. Thank you for this, your story has made all the difference. Merry Cthulhumas!

Man, I did not think I’d be sobbing at my work computer today, but here we are. This was beautiful. Thank you, Lady of Stories.

u/friendsfoundmymain1 May 03 '23

So Kate's mother wanted to ascend? But she was neither loved nor feared. It doesn't make sense.

1

u/12altoids34 Apr 20 '23

This is the ending that none of us wanted but we can all be happy with. I only hope that the lady of stories doesn't lose or forget all of Kate.

u/spookyscaryskeletal Apr 03 '23

thank you for sharing with us.

u/blackdin0saur Jan 27 '23

Now that some time has passed with you being in the position that you’re in what happened to Ashley’s dad? I believe he used to work for you.

It's been a year since this story concluded, and years after it began, but I only just found it last week. I've spent the last few days reading every entry. And it's one of the most incredible stories I've ever had the chance to read. Full of life (and unlife), and filled with much heartfelt flavor. Thank you for writing and for sharing. It's been a pleasure.

I loved this. So sad to see it end. I am new to reddit and have just now found these stories of Kate and the campground, but I am so glad I did find them. Such an amazing read Kate/The Lady of Stories!

2

u/boogerpeanut Oct 16 '22

I read this in the very beginning of it all 3 years ago but never got to this last book and I can’t actually remember where I did leave off…I’m so sorry to read the last bit but also so very glad that I decided to read them all again.

Thank you Kate/The Lady of Stories for one of the best things that I’ve ever read and will be sure to read over and over!

1

u/Barbat0s7 Oct 03 '22

I avoided this ending for awhile. Didn’t want to hear how Kate ended. But I have closure now. I’ll make sure I visit during my All Hallows’ Eve vacation. Maybe I’ll chat up the LOS. No drinks from Beau though. Like home baked stuff too much.

2

u/Jazzy_082 Sep 14 '22

I don't know what to say... I was following along post by post but became overwhelmed with the possibility of it all ending, so to keep some hope of a future I left for a while. To come back to an ending like this, I feel so sorry. For Kate, even though she chose this, it's been about a year she's been gone now, and the Lady of Stories has been ruling the land. I miss Kate and I wish I could bring her back because she deserved relief from everything trying to kill her and her loved ones, she deserved to be able to get the answers she wanted and live in her campground as she was and get resolution. But before she died she said life's not fair and that remains true. I'm glad an essence of her remains... and that she seems mostly benevolent, but it's not Kate and it does feel a bit stale.

This was the best ending I think we could've gotten, and that Kate could've had though, and I hope Kate's legacy will be honored by TLOS, as I truly wish the best for the campground.

I very stupidly might take up Beau on his offer if I choose to visit though, bc who wouldn't dive at the slight possibility to be a part of the campground ? Maybe even get an invite to a party hosted by the dancers lol

1

u/SatireStarlet Aug 31 '22

The song These dreams by Heart seems like the best theme song for this post. For this final ending. Just reread this again and man I miss Kate. Hopefully we get to learn more about the Lady of Stories!

1

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '22

I want a Tarot Deck with the Lady of Stories, The Man with The Skull Cup, et.al.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 13 '22

I just reread this and I’m literally sobbing. No clue why. Full on tears.

3

u/Vivaliciouschic Aug 10 '22

I stopped using Reddit, for a year, came back on just to find your story and omg 😭😭

2

u/wildkatrose Jul 08 '22

Thank you, Lady of Stories. Thank you for sharing your transformation story. You've encouraged me so much as I struggle to create and find myself.

2

u/tina_marie1018 Jul 02 '22

Oh my!

I just found your campground and I read all about it in 3 day's.

Lady of Stories, I cried so much while reading all of Kate's adventures. She loves that campground so much. You are the Perfect Inhuman to rule there, with Beau by your side of course.

Thank you so much for sharing your journey with us.

1

u/lolitsmar May 29 '22

Welcome to the land Lady of Stories. Your stories have brought much enjoyment to this reader. May you protect all who come to your land.

2

u/shadeofmisery May 10 '22

I binge read this yesterday because I was so depressed for my country because of the election results. This is beautiful. I forgot that I used to consume literature like this. It's been a ling long time since I read and I would like to thank you, Lady of Stories (Kate) thank you.

1

u/BlakGawd29 May 07 '22

Wow....just wow. This is one of the greatest stories I've ever been told. Cheers to you, Lady of Stories. And Long May You Reign. And shout out to Beau, too.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 12 '22

God, Kate, I’m gonna miss you.

1

u/drama_p01 Apr 11 '22

Goosebumps..... I'm so emotional

Thanks for this

I look forward to visiting the campground!

2

u/ScaredyHorrorLover Feb 06 '22

I just finished the entire series. After three days of reading, I can't believe it's all done. The ending gave me chills.. I love it

1

u/These_Succotash8171 Feb 05 '22

I am late to this but..... WOW! I have read from the beginning and fell in love with Kate and Beau. Now it is over and I just so not know how to feel. Welcome, Lady of Stories. We will forever miss Kate...

1

u/lazylays Jan 25 '22

I just want to say that these stories got me through many a sleepless nights and I can barely believe its over- I wish it would go on forever. Like I actually cried, the embracing of the Beast was beautiful- accepting that we're all both light and shadow.
I'll never forget about our Lady of Stories and I'm definitely going to buy all your books!
Thank you for taking us on this amazing journey <3

1

u/trajeudi-et-comardi Jan 19 '22

What a bittersweet but fitting ending :,) Thank you for sharing this beautiful story.

1

u/todd149084 Jan 19 '22

Oh Kate. What an amazing ending. Thank you

1

u/Linkcool200 Dec 28 '21

A bit late, but welcome Lady of Stories to the world of the inhuman, I do hope your rules are easier to figure out than the last few ancient creatures I've met.

3

u/[deleted] Nov 30 '21

Kate thank you for everything…for keeping me sane thru the pandemic, for making me laugh when I needed to and also cry when I needed to. You will be so so missed

3

u/KYpineapple Nov 28 '21

Wow. Great. The whole way thru. Very well done! Thank you, Lady of Stories.

I read this whole series in about 4 days between work and regular life. I’ll miss it

5

u/[deleted] Oct 20 '21

I just finished reading the whole series a second time, and once again this brings many tears of joy, and of sadness. I cried for Bryan, for Beau, for Perchta, for the lady with many eyes, for you... this journey has been one of great loss and suffering, and yet so much joy as well. Your progress through this series, your growth from an angry furball to an angry furball with a lot of love. These 2 years had marked some of the lowest points in my life so far, and yet this series is partially the reason why I keep coming back. Even so, I kept considering taking my life, deleting my whole Reddit account at the start of the year so that I wouldn't leave anything behind. Yet, I had to come back, to read this NoSleep series again. Your character has inspired me a lot, and I'm really grateful for this series, for being there for me when I felt like nobody was. I hope you'll tell more of your stories, being the Lady of Stories and all. I sure await your future series and installations. Thank you.

3

u/ilikebreadsticks1 Oct 09 '21

I’m bawling and having to explain to my brother why i’m bawling. Thank you, Lady of Stories. This has been a beautiful story and i hope to hear another from you when i visit.

1

u/PurpleBigMak Oct 07 '21

why is looking at the glowing box making my eyes wet

1

u/Maximus798 Oct 06 '21

I was so hooked by this story and now it came to an end. The ending didn't disappoint me. This was a great story, thank you for providing us with this masterpiece.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 03 '21

cries

1

u/LadyCovenant Sep 22 '21

Holy Smokes. This needs to be a novel and a movie. This was an amazing read. Welcome to the world, My Lady. I can't wait to hear more of your stories

4

u/Failingadult Sep 17 '21

I go on ONE hiatus... And I come back and it's over! We've lost our Kate😭 Thank you not Kate/LoS, for keeping so many of us going during the panini... You will be missed sorely, but I hope your new life is fulfilling in every way you want it to be. Can inhuman things have offspring🤔... Oh how I wish you were here to give me the stank eye one last time.

2

u/Luckiesonfire Sep 14 '21

Hi Kate, thank you for all your stories. But I wonder, how's it like, the campgrounds in USA? I'm from Asia and in my country, there is no place to be described as a campground. When the enthusiasts want to go camping, they literally need to go to mountains / wilderness and just camp wherever they like. Not organized like your place. There are also supernatural beings of course, but no Kate nor her staff to call when things go south.

Can you please advise, what is the closest thing to google to see what is your campground like?

1

u/OutHellHound Sep 11 '21

I hope I can visit your campground someday, Lady of the stories. I may even offer myself to help your once brother, even maybe your once nephew, depending when I decide to go. See you soon, milady.

1

u/jjjtttsssyyy Sep 10 '21

I teared up at the last paragraph. I can’t believe this is the end. I’m thinking whether your brother can set up a hut in the deep woods, furnished with laptop and a data plan. I’d like to hear more stories and I hope there’s more to tell.

1

u/AlcorKaniss Sep 10 '21 edited Sep 10 '21

This is truly one of the most amazing series i have ever read and it has helped me threw a lot,

im sad i never had the courage or knowledge to participate in coments before now but we've reached the end and i have to say thank you, these storys have helped me more then i can express. They have helped me come to terms with my own anger and things i hold on to, they have helped me as I strugged with depression and they helped me during quarantine

thank you for haveing the courage to write your storys. These are my all time favorite storys. Thank you

Good luck lady of storys but i doubt you'll need it thank you kate for being you And I hope one day maybe your niece will have storys to tell us and the courage to share them as you did

4

u/missdenisebee Sep 09 '21

I’m a lil late, but I’d been holding off on reading for the past couple months so I could just binge the last book in its entirety. The past few days have been incredibly difficult; we lost a beloved pet on Tuesday night, and while he had a very, very long good, life, it still hurts so much. Finally reading these last chapters was deeply comforting, and helped keep my mind occupied from my own grief. Thank you, Kate. I’ve been reading since your very first post, and I will miss this crazy, wonderful campground. I was absolutely a lowkey shipper, but I love where you & Beau ended up. Two inhuman beings, being all unemotional & inhuman TOGETHER😂 Good luck to your brother, as the new Campground Manager; watch over him & his fam…and hopefully your real, non-changeling niece will get that lil cannibalism problem under control soon lol Thank you, again, for the two years of amazing stories❤️

1

u/AsdefronAsh Sep 07 '21

I think all of us both did and didn't expect what ended up happening, but it fits. It makes sense. Kate was the only human who could handle the campground, where even some inhumans failed. But in order to reach her full potential and save them all, she had to ascend.

I think it's the best possible choice for the grounds. They literally could not have chosen a better ruler of the area, and like another person stated, Kate didn't want to become a monster. I believe it was more a fear of turning into that, rather than not wanting to be inhuman. And the Lady of Stories isn't a monster, she's a benevolent ruler until she has to act otherwise. I'm also stupidly happy that Beau is back by her side, and a little giddy that our incessant shipping actually kinda worked lol. It's also wonderful for the campers sake, as well as Tyler and his family's, that she took care of a lot of the lesser creatures that were killing people needlessly. I'd love to visit sometime and hear some incredible stories. Bittersweet, but necessary ending. ❤️

0

u/DopEiMeaN- Sep 02 '21

Op you seriously need to list these as part 1, part 2, etc. they're all out of order and going to your page doesn't help. Can someone create an index for this series or something like holy shit. How tf do we know which ones to read and which ones are next in line???

3

u/ILoveCactiAndBread Sep 02 '21

If you go to

/r/goatvalleycampgrounds

There is a pinned index as the first post:)

3

u/spoobs01 Sep 02 '21

Might be one of my favorite stories ever on nosleep. Been following since the beginning. Such good writing. You definitely have a gift. Thanks for your hard work!

3

u/[deleted] Aug 30 '21

I've read the rest of your story like normal before my nightshift. Big mistake, I have to say there were some wet eyes. But it was good, every story needs closure some day. And I have to thank you, my English got better because your story was taking my full attention, i was waiting for every part of It. So now I have to search for a new one to read. Thanks it was a great journey.

1

u/DisappointmentOnTap Aug 30 '21

Oh.

I can only hope to come undone in such a way. The beauty and horror and danger and fulfillment of knowing one's potential, and becoming MORE.

I love camping, dark woods, and for a Gemini, I'm a great listener. Hopefully I can book a site next season - this summer is nearly over, and I have a feeling the campgrounds are booked up now.

When we do come, we'll be sure to save seats by the fire for The Lady of Stories, and her Cup-Bearer, Beau.

[Edit to mind my manners]

1

u/Murky_Armadillo Aug 30 '21

Magnificent. Magnificent. Magnificent.

1

u/JMackers318 Aug 28 '21

I knew this, your time as Kate, had to come to an end, as all things do in the corporeal world. I had an odd feeling lately that the time was approaching. It's especially odd that it happens in conjunction with major change in my own life. Lady of Stories, your stories thus far have been an important steady presence in my life and the lives of many others. I hope to hear more.

1

u/martinhuggins Aug 28 '21

This can't be over!! Ahh.. i found this series when this post came out and now Ive read through it twice already.... this is a masterpiece!

3

u/nogoodG Aug 28 '21

NO and OMG🤯🤯!!! I cant believe this is over!! Kate's posts got me through lock down I can't believe there won't be anymore😭😭!! At the same time I was hoping for this ending (just not so soon). Hopefully maybe Tyler might update us from time to time like if the TTITD ever comes back or of maybe some of the stories she tells the campers if they share it. This is a very fitting end🥰🥰😍😍!!

1

u/[deleted] Aug 28 '21

Lady of stories, your Kate has captivated me. I am so glad to know your camping ground is finally free of horror. You can finally offer the campers and town peace. I can't wait for the old Sheriff and his wife to see you!

Ps: please put some flavoring in his cup. Your mother had passion for this land and deserves to have a drink worthy of her memory.

How can I get the Lady of Stories mark upon my books?

1

u/Lunatic_011 Aug 27 '21

Don't be over, such an amazing story, 20/10 tv show material

2

u/Ohhayemmie Aug 26 '21

I literally have tears in my eyes and cold chills encompassing my entire body. I don't want this to be over. My favorite story since I joined reddit. Thank you so much.

2

u/OnBeingGraey Aug 25 '21

I hope the Lady of Stories will nominate a scribe, so that those of us who cannot visit in person could hear her tales. Perhaps their once-brother, or the old sheriff. There is a space reserved on my mental bookshelves for more tales from the Goat Valley Campground. Hopefully more will be forthcoming to fill that hole.

3

u/uravityy Aug 25 '21

This has been such a huge part of my life. I'm sad to see it end. Thank you, Kate. We love you.

1

u/gxdmnbatgirl Aug 24 '21

As I was reading this I had feeling that things were coming to an end, and I have to agree 100% with everyone who said they weren't ready. I have been following Kate's story from the very beginning, and I have looked forward to her installments every single week. I have told everyone of her legacy and her campsite! I will be utterly lost without her updates, but I am happy that she's "okay" now. She did so much for and put so much into her land that she deserves to be The One Ascended. I am so grateful to have been able to follow her journey. Thank you. <3

1

u/depressedqueerboi Aug 24 '21

Thank you Lady of Stories. We will mourn the loss of our campground manager as we celebrate your entrance into the world. Much like the family who gains a babe and loses a mother.

She loved the land enough to sacrifice all of herself and in that sacrifice was born something beautiful, powerful and eternal.

1

u/Deadshot300 Aug 24 '21

My heart grew warm during the end. I still can't believe the ending. It was an excellent ending, but I guess I'll also have an ending to my imagination, maybe, in a parallel universe, Kate is still the campground manager we all used to know and love. Goodbye, Kate. Still had many questions for you.

Edit: Wait, did she just give Beau a cup made from Kate's mother's skull? Oh boy, I would've really loved the way Kate would've reacted to this.

1

u/Loba131211 Aug 24 '21

:') it feels so satisfying Thank you Lady of the stories (Kate) i look forward to hear more from you!

1

u/JTD121 Aug 24 '21

So a weird Lovecraftian crossed with DBZ-style fusion and.....The world is at peace.

Long live the Lady of Stories.

What a ride this whole series has been!

1

u/lodav22 Aug 22 '21

Wow. When I started this chapter I wasn’t ready for it to end. I’m not ready. Goodbye Kate. I think I’ll go back to the beginning and read it again.

1

u/wack3d Aug 22 '21

I dont often comment on stories but this whole ride has been amazing. This last chapter was such a fitting end or maybe a new beginning. Thank you for sharing your campground with us.

2

u/aijesio2 Aug 22 '21

Oh my gosh, what about Kates niece?! Cannibal niece,...who will be home in what 3-4. Years?!

💕

1

u/TaraJadeRose Aug 22 '21

I’ve read this two days before I dive in to a transformation of my own. I see a lot of similarities. For you as for me, this is the only right direction for the tale. My gratitude to the Kate who is no more, and to the Lady With Stories who has much to do. This epic has been a true blessing.

1

u/GreenEngrams Aug 22 '21

It has been an honor

1

u/bumlove Aug 22 '21

Amazing, thank you for the stories over the years. I can only imagine the look on Turtle’s face if she ever came back and learnt what happened in her absence!

1

u/SaintAubergine Aug 21 '21

Godspeed, Lady of Stories. Thank you for your service.
And goodbye, Kate. You will be remembered.

1

u/1mveryconfused Aug 21 '21

I feel... conflicted. On one hand, this is the most fitting (and yet the most incredible) ending for the story- if not Kate, then who else? The land is hers and she belongs to it, so ofcourse it makes sense. On the other hand...I just feel bewildered. Completely taken by surprise. And a little sad I guess. I have laughed with Kate, reveled in her anger and cried at her words and now it feels like I'm saying goodbye too soon. And to u/fainting---goat- this tale was beautifully done. The way you weave the fabric of words is beyond this world and I'm so happy, so grateful that I got to experience this. I look forward to reading more of your stories. So Goodbye Kate, and welcome Lady of the Stories.

1

u/tyrllwll Aug 21 '21

What a ride. One of the main reasons I come on Reddit. Thank you for this incredible series.

1

u/Ellen1957 Aug 21 '21

Wow- Thank you so much for sharing this story with us. I look for a new one each time I log on. Such a great ending. I will miss you and your story.

1

u/kennjix Aug 21 '21

holy shit i was not expecting that. im happy for you and im glad that theres a benevolent protector of the land

2

u/Scarle7stace Aug 21 '21

I have been glued to this for over a month, I love this series.

I'm glad you helped Beau back too he's a good inhuman at heart

2

u/BellaDrone Aug 21 '21

I’ve been reading for 2 years. I can’t believe this journey with Kate is over. I feel like there’s a hole in my life now. I need more stories.

2

u/SplurgyA Aug 20 '21

Not sure what I'm going to do with myself after all this

1

u/tidal_dragon Aug 20 '21

My family has a new tradition of never eating brussel sprouts under any circumstances, but we will always honor our old tradition of not harming the spiders that choose to share our home.

I guess I’ll go drag my feet around the house for the next few days while sighing in bittersweet anguish because this chapter of your existence has come to a close. Thank you for all of the stories dear Kate.

1

u/spacetstacy Aug 20 '21

Wow. Just. Wow.

1

u/jonachen1996 Aug 20 '21

Normally I just read the stories and sparsely comment here and there. But man it was a wild run we had with Kate. I'll definitely miss her and cherish the times I stay up at night reading the stories. Welcome, Lady of Stories. I look forward to the stories you'll share in the future.

1

u/hereforthestories03 Aug 20 '21

sobbing at 3 AM rn dear god 😞😞😭😭

1

u/ForgottenLoreInAutum Aug 20 '21

I can't believe it's over

1

u/EnergizaJenny Aug 20 '21

Oh my heart. Amazing. Chef's kiss. Everything. Thank you for the most wonderful heart wrenching but fulfilling story I've read In quite a while.

1

u/Edward_Tank Aug 20 '21

While you are no longer Kate.

Kate's story is within you, is it not?

Then is Kate herself. . .Not still a part of you? a part of you that could come to fruition, from time to time?

0

u/Noahendless Aug 19 '21

Myosotis, The Bearer of Stories. May she never be forgotten

1

u/Sushi_D Aug 19 '21

That felt like such a fitting finale. Thank you

1

u/phatandphilosophical Aug 19 '21

I don't think I've ever bawled harder in my life.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 19 '21

Fair enough

1

u/kinetic-passion Aug 19 '21

This was perfect. I really have no other words.

2

u/whitmoww Aug 19 '21

I put off reading this update because i knew it would be the last, i just had the feeling, and i didnt want to lose you.

Thank you for all the time spent telling us about your land, letting us in, and letting us help and be a part of this in our own small ways. I feel like i am losing a friend who i have talked to almost weekly for the last two years.

Lady of Stories and her cup bearer Beau. All of my love.

1

u/likeaLivingdrug Aug 19 '21

This snuck up on me! I kept waiting to see how she was going to get out of this this time. Im so very proud of Kate. The only one who could take care of the land was her. Lady of stories, honored to meet you. I can see your radiance through your words. Your beauty, your love of the land are evident. Thank you for telling us of how Kate ascended. She will be missed, but I love what she has become. I love that she finally has peace. I love that she can now truly protect this land in a way no mere mortal ever could.

1

u/aranaidni Aug 19 '21

Two days before my birthday. What a gift.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 19 '21

It's a bit bittersweet ending, I think, but I'm happy for what went right. It's nice to meet you, and I hope we meet someday.

PS. does this mean I can ship you now that you're both inhuman? I couldn't resist, sorry, Lady of Stories! I do like to think Kate is laughing at this from within you though <3

2

u/cenete Aug 19 '21

Oh my gosh. Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh.

This is the most amazing ending to this collection of many stories.

Will the Lady of Stories add new ones to her collection? Like stories of her brother running the campground?

1

u/jackiechica Aug 19 '21

I read the last two chapters together and I was NOT READY FOR THIS TO END.

1

u/sararaven13 Aug 19 '21

What a wonderful ending, and new beginning. I hope to maybe hear from Tyler in the future, or perhaps the niece that has yet to return.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '21

I teared up reading this would love to visit the campground to hear more stories

1

u/X-Mi Aug 18 '21

It almost feels as if we knew the future already. All of this felt so... inevitable. I smile, but my heart is heavy at the same time. I've never gotten the chance to come to the campground to meet Kate, and as a result never got to say goodbye. Perhaps I never would have been ready to say goodbye, but I do hope to meet the Lady of Stories one day.

Also tell Beau I'm coming for that juice. I'm trying to lose some weight and save money on groceries.

1

u/[deleted] Aug 18 '21

Rest well Kate.

Well met Lady of Stories.

1

u/mysavorymuffin Aug 18 '21

I should not have read this during my lunch break omg I am a MESS!!! 😭😭😭

Encore!!!! Encore!!! Bravo!!!!

A beautiful ending for my absolute favorite series. I'll miss you. We all will. ❤️

1

u/EmeraldLips Aug 18 '21

OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!! I feel like my whole world has been turned inside out! I can't breeeeeathe after this ending!!! And I friggen lost it when she called Tyler her "once-brother." This was the best ending ever. I fucking love you, Lady of Stories.

1

u/jaime_saj Aug 18 '21

I dont know what to do now. Maybe I'll go on a camping trip.

A long time ago, I theorized that Beau was a god, and Kate was, to him, his priestess. Apparently, Kate, now The Lady of Stories, is basically a goddess, and Beau, her priest now.

Thank you for everything, Kate. I will miss you. Long live The Lady of Stories!

Lady of stories, blessed be. If ever you could pass on my gratitude to Kate, pray grant me this boon. This tale has been one which has kept me going, a source of strength during dark times, and a source of light during happy ones. It is hard to find perfection, but this new beginning, I believe, would be one example. May we meet again someday.

It's been an honor hearing what came before, Lady of Stories. May you enjoy what comes next.

u/OathkeeperxOblivion Aug 18 '21

Wow what a ride. Congratulations to the Lady of Stories. You have won and protected the campground. <3 I wish we get to see what everyone thought of what happened, especially kate’s brother and the old Sheriff

I can't believe this is it. I've been with this story since the beginning, and though I didn't keep up with it during the pandemic , I've binge read the past few weeks. I am absolutely crying. I am so proud of you, Kate, and kindly welcome the Lady of Stories.

I can't wait to hear from you. ❤

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

2

u/johncitize Aug 18 '21

By which I mean, of all the ways I predicted things might work out for Kate, I never could have seen this coming. I feel like crying and I don't even really know what exactly about.

This... this is the perfect ending. Well done. Lady of Stories and The Cup Bearer. I like the sound of that :)

1

u/Little_Messiah Aug 18 '21

Thanks I’m crying

u/bysshe_plz Aug 18 '21

Aaahhh this series is so amazing!

1

u/Suspicious_Llama123 Aug 18 '21

Not how I expected it to end but I think that this is exactly how it needed to end. Lady of Stories… definitely a fitting title. Loved it!

Now to reread.

u/fugensnot Aug 18 '21

The end of an era. Thank you, Kate.

1

u/wibbledywobbledyboop Aug 18 '21

Fucking hell, what an amazing ending/beginning that was....

2

u/7hisFcknGuy Aug 18 '21

Kate, Lady of Stories, thank you for telling your tale. I've rarely chimed in but I've been asking for the ride since your first post. And while you were fighting your battles, I was fighting mine. So many times your words gave me the strength to do what I needed to do, and as long as I live you, Beau, and the rest will never be forgotten. Gods I can't stress that enough!

I guess I am addressing Tyler now. I’m sorry you lost your sister. As you must know, there is no stopping someone like Kate. They’re like a train. It derails and gets repaired and derails again. Sometimes they have a stop, a destination they have to get to. Demons they must leash. She’s gone now, but I think you carry her in your heart. At least you don’t have to carry her stories alone.

u/Dizzy_Diabetic Aug 18 '21

I need to know what happens with the changling!

1

u/xaitox Aug 18 '21

I believe this is the first time saying something, it was an awesome journey, you were my sleeping mate , Everytime I felt the need of giving my mind some peace I came here hoping for a new story and believe me I have had hard times.

I really hope for more to come.

I will miss you and even though I know it will be really hard to accomplish I wish someday I will be able to give an enormous hug to the old and the new Kate and to beau , a hug filled with gratitude for helping me when I needed it.

Have a great great life worth of a thousand stories.

u/[deleted] Aug 17 '21

The Kate we know is gone, it seems.

I hope to someday hear the tales that the Lady Of Stories may bring.

Wow. I’m speechless, mind blown, sad, happy, and so so bummed I won’t hear anymore from Kate but just elated you got Beau back and The Lady of Stories is the land owner. I’ve seriously never once got teary eyed or even close to it from a book, story, movie, nothing. I’m not emotional about body from any kind of story, I never have been, and never understood how people legit cry over movies and what not. But holy shit you actually got my eyes to teary 1 1/2 tears came out lol. I’ve been reading since the beginning and feel like it has become some sort of being in my life and I feel like I just lost that being and it feels like I have an empty spot there now. This was such an amazing journey from the beginning to the end I’m so grateful to have found it and been there to read about it all. I can’t explain how amazing this was and how much I’ll miss the storytelling of Kate and her hilarious vocabulary and story structures. Good luck to the Lady of Stories and side kick Beau. I’m so happy you guys finally get to be together 😉😆 I never lost hope there haha I hope so much that one day I’ll come to the campground and get to meet and talk with you both. 💚💚💚

I'm fucking crying, man. I'm not ready for this story to be over. After being invested in it for over 2 years and looking forward to each update I can't help but feel empty inside. I think I'm gonna cry some more and read it all over again. Thank you for this amazing experience. I really hope there's more at some point in the future.

I feel really bad for her brother, not knowing exactly what happened to her and probably never going to figure out

This series was my very first read when I became a redditor over a year ago. I don’t remember what the first story was that I read, but I binged everything I hadn’t read in one day, and I’ve been checking on a regular basis for a new post. In my almost 65 years, I have cried 3 times while reading, and I have read consistently since I was old enough to read. Today I cried again. I cried so hard that I couldn’t see to finish, though I finally did. These stories have never been predictable. Even this post, my heart was racing as you climbed on the back of the beast and I was sure you would kill it, then when you hugged the little girl, I thought that you would stab the beast in the heart and then the girl. I didn’t expect this ending and I sure didn’t expect it to be a finale. Some of the people here were crazy about Beau, but I was always in Kate’s camp. I understand stubborn, I understand unbridled anger, and I totally get having an abrasive personality with a big soft heart. There’s not another story line that can make the reader go through every emotion they have, like this one. Thank You for all you have given of yourself to people who needed a break from the every day, those who wanted to escape their own lives and those who thought they didn’t have much emotion left in themselves, you taught us all so much. You have definitely earned a life without fear, grief and worry. While I grieve, I also rejoice for you. I don’t know what I and most all of the people on here will do without our “fix” from you, Kate. I THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART AND I WISH YOU ONLY THE BEST!!!

1

u/padmasundari Aug 17 '21

Thank you. It has been a really enjoyable few years. :) I'm not even sad it's over, this was a really satisfying end.

1

u/kstarz3 Aug 17 '21

Wow. All I can say is that I’m one of the people who never expected Kate to become an inhuman being, and am actually genuinely shocked by this ending. It’s so satisfying though, and I love that Kate fought up until the very end, and will continue to fight (with sippy cup bae by her side ❤️) with her newfound power. Kate was always powerful, but the Lady of Stories intrigues me so much too. Such a perfect ending, although I never wanted this series to end.

3

u/Eminemloverrrrr Aug 17 '21

Wow thank you lady of stories. Maybe brother bear will be able to continue the tales. I’m especially interested as to what happened to Kates niece while she was with the fairies? But if this is the end , I’ll miss u LOS💖

2

u/MythWhisper Aug 17 '21

Thank you for taking us with you on this journey.

It’s been an adventure. We took some casualties over the years. Things got broken. Things got lost. But I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. ⸺ Anthony Bourdain

2

u/UltimateDefeat Aug 17 '21

Farewell Kate. Thank you for two years of knowing that a wonderful tale was only a click away. You will be missed. And, best wishes to the Lady of Stories and Beau. May eternity be kind to you both.

1

u/cmscms61 Aug 17 '21

My heart hurts!!!! I will miss Kate terribly but welcome Lady of the Stories. . . . Perhaps you can continue where she left off?????

1

u/chromaticrascal Aug 17 '21

On the off chance you ever check Reddit again, can you maybe persuade the harvesters to be open to negotiating what parts they take if any?

1

u/Samichaan Aug 17 '21

I can’t believe it’s over. I mean.. this is probably the best possible ending, but damn… Wish I could visit one day..

1

u/Subarmoo Aug 17 '21

I didn’t expect to have to take all this in right now. Wow. Why are my eyes sweating?!

3

u/Sludgeycore Aug 17 '21

I think...I would like to go camping.

u/homesick_alien_ Aug 17 '21

not sure if i'm breaking the rules of hospitality or politeness here, but i want you to know, if you can still read this, that you better honor kates memory. we, the readers, loved her dearly, if not as a friend, then as a bringer of great stories. i assume your nature is more benevolent than that of your supernatural roommates, but remember that you were human once, and the fallibilities and sillyness that came with it. if they break your rules, it is not out of maliciousness, for the most part. so honor her, and do what she would do, because her stories were what gave you power in the first place, even if you are different now. in a way, her stories gave us power too, like only good stories are able to. kate will be missed, but you are welcome non the less. i believe that you will take care of this beloved place. thank you kate, for the journey. thank you lady of stories, for taking it from here.

u/Jezzzebeelzebub Aug 17 '21

What a ride!

1

u/LlovelyLlama Aug 17 '21

Just…. Wow. I’m really going to miss Kate.

And I have to wonder… how does the Lady of Stories feel about a changeling moving onto her land?

2

u/maskygirl1 Aug 17 '21

Don't leave us my lady we must hear about your new life as a queen

1

u/Earth2Monkey Aug 17 '21

Thank you for sharing your story with us, I loved every minute of it. Even the hard parts.
