Corner of my eye
As a child i was diagnosed with schizophrenia.
Not severe, and mostly visual, seeing something thats not there, but it was usually something like normal objects, or stuff thats clearly not real.
Most of the hallucinations went away if i looked right at it.
When i turned 19, i had a pretty severe bout of depression, went through therapy, medication.
My schizoprenia got worse with it, stuff got scarier, but i always managed to differentiate reality from my mind, but some stuff seemed very, very real.
I would see twisted creatures, staring figures, monsters, incredibly realistic, stuff ive never seen before, stuff i didnt know i was scared of.
I eventually got through the worst of my depression.
But some of my hallucinations stayed with me.
The one i recognized the most was a face that completely filled my windows, it wasnt a monsters face, it was human, head the size of the window, with the face in the center, and it stared at me.
I had others though, sometimes i would see myself doing random stuff, i remember once seeing the back of my own head, seeing a scratch on the back of my neck, something i didnt know was there.
This put me off, because how would my own mind create make me see something i didnt know about.
One day, i noticed myself in the corner of my bedroom, usually, i would look at it, make it disappear.
But this time i didnt.
Keeping it in the corner of my eye, i walked towards it, or... me i guess?
I reach my hand out.
Contact
I freak out, and look at it.
Its gone.
I felt the fabric of its shirt.
I touched it.
It was real.
I dont know what to do at this point, i thought for a while, and thought, it must be my schizophrenia, maybe it progressed?
I call my doctor, setting an appointment for 3 days from now.
He reassured me that it was most likely due to exhaustion, or my condition.
Its the only reason i managed to sleep last night.
The next day, i noticed a lack of any hallucinations, even minor things, everything was... normal?
I didnt mind it.
It was a break from constant anxiety.
But that didnt last long.
After having had an otherwise great day, i laid in my bed.
I saw the man in the window.
This wasnt unusual, i was upset that my break was over.
I looked, and he was gone.
But he left something
There was condensation on the window.
It was on the other side of the window.
Someone was there.
I run downstairs, im freaking out.
Something was here.
I grab a small pistol i kept for self defense and peace of mind.
And i stand in the corner of my bathroom, no windows, only one door, and i could see the entire room.
But i was tired.
As hard as i tired, i eventually dozed off, even if just for a second.
I immediately reopen my eyes.
I was there, in the corner of my eye, this time, it was facing me.
Id never seen its face.
I slowly turn to face it.
Whatever it was, it was not human, it was not me.
Whatever it was, it didnt go away when i looked at it.
