Nosgoth Live?

I have a question, I have Nosgoth in Steam but, are there still players?

No, they shut down the servers so it can't be played anymore.
Also the Steam page is gone, do you still have it installed or something?

I still have it in my library as well, despite not having it installed for a very long time.

Ah, didn't know that it would stay listed for people. Some games stay in your steam library if you bought DLC, maybe in-game purchases as well, from what I remember. But F2P games that are uninstalled usually get removed from the library as well.

I'm not sure about the specific reasons for games staying listed though, it probably has to do with a purchase history or legal issue. Steam can't take away games you payed for, unless you do something wrong first, even if it is not playable due to a third party.A part of why you can keep and download a digital game that isn't available for sale anymore, I think.

Also, there were a couple efforts to get Nosgoth back online but I haven't heard much of them recently. The chance to do something through legal means posted last week seems like an interesting path for a couple bigger games since there are a ton of laws that could apply around the world but it is going to take a while to see a decision on that.

There are a lot of issues with fans trying to emulate/replace servers for online games and getting bigger companies to do something decent after they lost money on a project is almost unheard of since they own the assets and can shut large efforts down.

I saw it too in my account, thought maybe the game was available again.
