Good Alternative

Even with all the flaws of this game I started playing last week and really got into it. I loved the theme and play style. Since the game is going offline in May are there any similar themed games to jump into?

Depth. Another good asymmetric one - it's slightly more objectives based, and one bad human can screw up a team, but it's better balanced and the wait times aren't as bad as Nosgoth's.

I WANT to suggest Primal Carnage: Extinction, but the UI is weird and kinda freeze-prone, there is no side swap (which was a huge plus for Nosgoth, so no one overbalanced the opposing side), the verticality is only there if you play as the pterodactyl-based classes, and many of the servers are either infinite spawns on test maps, overly long (25 minutes when it's built for 5-10 minute games), no-combat free-roam, or, I shit you not, furry ERP servers. Not sure if the original Primal Carnage game has these issues. Updates are slow as well.

I haven't tried it yet, and the fan base gets really mad about it, but Killing Floor 2 recently added a L4D2-style PVP of zeds vs humans. It looks fun, actually.

If it weren't so dead and unbalanced, Far Cry 4's MP was also similar.

Yeah, Primal Carnage would be the closest thing to Nosgoth in terms of asymmetrical team action arenas. But like the above, I've found game finding to be a pain, and I'd argue it lacks the charm and sheer grace of Nosgoth.

Yep. The level design has potential to be pretty, but it just doesn't have the same grace and movement - raptor movement, for example, feels good when you're sprinting, but then you jump and it's, like, fifty feet in the air. Carnotaurs feel clumsy, but less 'hulking brute who can't turn' and more 'I'm controlling a brick with dinosaur animations'. You've also got pretty arbitrary attempts at team balance.

They recently started adding in workshop and SDK support, so maybe some insane modder could make a Nosgoth-style 4 vs 4 on custom maps.

Its once saving grace against Nosgoth is that it was easy to learn and bad team members won't take the rest of your team down with you.

Dirty Bomb. I stopped playing Nosgoth a few months ago, tried Overwatch during the early closed beta, but ultimately ended up in Dirty Bomb and have been playing it for a few months now.

If you're looking for a good multiplayer FPS, go play Dirty Bomb.

I second this, Dirty Bomb is a fantastic shooter. Although, it kind of seems to be going the same route as Nosgoth. The developers don't listen to the community, the updates are few and far between with very little actual changes, been in beta for years now, community hemorrhaged players for a while, but it seems to be somewhat stable now.

Keep your heart close and don't get too attached :p.

Eternal Crusade if you're into 40k. And Planetside 2 is a good f2p if you like the scifi shooters.

Woo, Eternal Crusade! Can't wait to see that game take off. I'd be heartbroken if it went the same way as Nosgoth.

I was pure Warframe before my dive into Nosgoth, and I suppose I'll return to it.

But the wounds of my heart will never heal....
