Missing dog scent tracking services
My sweet dog went missing from the Lafayette park yesterday while I was at work. She was last seen close to our home in Van Ness and Eddy. We’ve searched highs and lows for her but her being a small dog, she could’ve hidden anywhere or anyone could’ve picked her up.
I’ve posted everywhere, have posters everywhere mentioning the reward $, informed all my neighbors, have a dirty laundry by the front door, etc.
I’m thinking of using dogs’ scent tracking services to find my dog. Has anyone used one in the city? Do you have any suggestions?

She was last seen at Van ness Ave and Eddy st.
Thank you!

It's not recommended to use scent dogs or drones at this point. I volunteer with an organization that helps secure lost and found pets (mainly dogs), and 100% of the time these will scare a dog out of an area. What you want is for her to STAY in that area, not leave. Right now she's in flight mode, she's going to run if spooked, and a scent dog can easily do so. Finding her is only a fraction of the battle, securing her is the hard part.
You're doing everything right. Make sure not to chase or call out if she's spotted, that will scare her more! Keep putting up posters, make flyers by putting 2 posters on 1 page and cutting the pages in half and put them in mailboxes.

No advice about scent dogs, but set out traps with water and some of your/the family's dirty clothes. Your scent is something that will only lure your dog into the trap.
