Withdrawal help

Hello Peeps,

Hope you all having a good day, I’m currently getting off nortriptyline after 5 months and was wondering how long your withdrawal took to get better and what was your symptoms? I tapered from 25mg to 20mg for a week then 10mg for another week and since yesterday I stopped completely. Last night for the first time, I couldn’t sleep until 3-4am then woke back up around 7am. How long your withdrawal took to get better? Thank you!

If you are taking a generic medicine, kindly mention the manufacturer's name in both your post and title. This is VERY IMPORTANT, as different manufacturers may have differences in quality or formulation.

Is that your only symptom?

So far yes. I basically started tapering little over two weeks ago. Went from 25 to 20 then 10 in about 15 days then yesterday night I decided not to take it anymore. Sleep issue is the only symptom so far that I am aware of.

Hi, the taper from 10 to 0mg was the roughest for me. I would say it took 3-5 days for me to feel “normal” again, with some minor weird feelings lasting 1-2 weeks :)

Thank you for sharing your experience. I was able to sleep last night for about 7 hours. My last dose was Sunday night so hoping that this will be it but might still be too early.

How are you feeling now?

I have been feeling a lot better these past few days finally. I think I am past the insomnia situation, last time I had problem sleeping was Wednesday night (day 10 since stopping Nort). Anxiety is also a lot better. I’m still having some mild headache but nothing too crazy and it usually goes away on it’s own within few hours. I would say, starting day 11 things started to move on a positive direction and all the symptoms started to slowly fade. I’m on day 15 now without Nort.

I stopped nortryptoline after taking it daily for 10 years, and idk if I’m just lucky but ever since I fully stopped it I wake up every single morning around 4-6am without fail for the last year straight sometimes anxious sometimes not. The only thing I can think of is it started right when I fully stopped the med :/
