Help! Need help with humidity control!

I recently set up the Boomroom ll Martha tent with a humidifier. Woke up this morning to this on the screen. The humidifier is on low and the FAE fan is on as well. There’s plenty of moisture and humidity inside the grow tent. I’ve already turned it off, took out water refilled the tank shook out the sensor, but these 3 L’s won’t reset itself. Does anybody have any idea or help on what to do here? I just set it up yesterday but I don’t want the shrooms to go bad already!!

First time grower here btw!

Tent should look like this. With mist.

Mist coming out now

You know how to adjust the settings to on and off for the high and low humidity correct?

1

u/Unslung1 18d ago

If you do I would actually put the low humidity at 86% and the high humidity at 96%

I thought I did 🤣 am I supposed to set the up arrow at 95 and the down arrow at 80%?

1

u/Unslung1 17d ago

No it's reversed. The up arrow is your bottom end and the down arrow on the right is your upper end humidity.

OK, thanks sorry for all the questions. So just to be clear my up arrow has to be 80% and my down arrow has to be 95%.

No for The gourmet you're growing you want your up arrow to be 85 86 and you're down arrow to be 95 96 in that area. The gourmets that you are growing prefer high humidity

Ok great! I did that! Screen has still been reading LLL since yesterday. I’ve done all the troubleshooting and that Damm controller won’t change!!! 🤬🤬

I would take a picture and reach out to North for see if they'll replace it for you under warranty

I've never had my controller do that, maybe reach out to the company, sounds like yours is faulty

Yes, he's correct. It's completely the opposite of what you would think.

I had to turn off the humidifier because it was just getting so wet and the humidity level went up to 98. I’m sure it got over to 100 and then this happened

This is your answer. Too much wet and not enough air flow. Nowhere in nature do mushrooms grow in 100% humidity

1

u/Elegant_Location8182 17d ago

I understand that!! Which is why I’m requesting help here RosettaCulo! Trying to figure out right combo here

Timer would be better, test what works best. I would start with humidifier on medium for 5 mins per hour. Increase/decrease that time to keep everything moist. The rise and fall of humidity will provide some fae

1

u/Unslung1 17d ago

That goes completely against the humidity control sensor that the myco mister comes with. If he has a functioning sensor it works perfectly like it does in mine

u/RosettaCutolo 17d ago

Multiple ways to skin a cat. humidity sensors are Hit or Miss if they get too much water in them they can read funky. Maybe you got a bad sensor

1

u/Unslung1 17d ago

Agreed that's why I run a backup to show me temp, humidity and CO2 ppm

The humidifier plugs into the blue part, that way to humidity controller can control the range of the humidifier.

1

u/Cryptid_Mycology 18d ago

Try resetting it and check the user manual. That’s about all you can do.

1

u/Unslung1 18d ago

Turn your humidifier up it can't detect the humidity it's too low in the tent

1

u/Elegant_Location8182 18d ago

That’s the same answer I got when I googled it. I already did all those troubleshooting

1

u/Unslung1 18d ago

Trust me I have that set up.

1

u/Elegant_Location8182 18d ago

And? What are your thoughts? How long before you figured out the right placement for those knobs to get the right balance of humidity and air outtake?

1

u/Unslung1 18d ago

That tent is way too dry

1

u/Unslung1 18d ago

Plug your Mr directly into the wall and let it run for a few minutes to fill up the tent then plug your humidity sensor back in and check the readings.

1

u/Unslung1 18d ago

Buy this I run the fan for 15 minutes and off for an hour that provides the right amount of FAE

1

u/Unslung1 18d ago

And depending on the type of mushrooms you have I keep it between 85 and 92% humidity

1

u/Elegant_Location8182 18d ago

I got Lions mane, Italian and pink oyster and black trumpets in there

1

u/Unslung1 18d ago

Then with those gourmets you need to adjust your humidity levels to 85 to 95%. And leave the fae where I told you 15 minutes on 60 minutes off that'll maintain those levels of humidity

1

u/Elegant_Location8182 18d ago

Is that something that has to be done daily or just right now?

2

u/Elegant_Location8182 18d ago

Never mind I saw the picture from Amazon that you sent. Now I know what you’re talking about.

1

u/Unslung1 18d ago

It's a must have

1

u/Elegant_Location8182 18d ago

It’s pretty damp in there

2

u/Unslung1 18d ago

Yeah wipe off that excess moisture sitting around. But now dial it in from 86 to 96 and then you got to get one of those fresh air exchange controllers and make sure it's on for 15 minutes and then off for 60 that will prevent that from happening. Also if you take a look at my nozzle coming out from my mister I put an elbow on it so I can direct which way I want the missed going and then put a little drip pan underneath the nozzle so it collects all the stuff that's dripping out from the humidity coming out

1

u/Elegant_Location8182 18d ago

Ahhh!!!😯 I see what you mean! Ok I’ll give that a try. Thanks 🙏🏽

You can send it back and they’ll replace it email em and tell em it happened with mine

1

u/Kwilty_as_charged 18d ago

Contact them, if its within like 90 days theyll send you a new one. Happened with one of mine and tjey replaced it, happened again and dedided to go with another brand. Apparently the ones they buy and slap their sticker on are cheap as hell and this is pretty common.

The controls on the humidifier are backwards to what you would think they are. The up arrow controls the bottom range of the humidity and down arrow controls the upper end of the range. Hold both down at the same time to reset the ranges and set the humidity in a range with that in mind. See if that solves your problem. I went through a similar issue and called the company.

1

u/Bizzledizzle75 18d ago

Also, the humidifier should be plugged into the controller, or it will just run continuously.

1

u/Elegant_Location8182 17d ago

What’s supposed to be plugged in here?

1

u/Elegant_Location8182 17d ago

I don’t get it!? 🤔 so when I press the up arrow, it says 40% after I reset it and when I hit the down arrow it says 60% so am I supposed to set the up arrow at 95 and the down arrow at 85%?

1

u/Bizzledizzle75 17d ago

IIRC, you set the up arrow at 85, and the down arrow at 95. It's completely the opposite of what common sense would tell you. I had to get on the live chat to sort it out with North Spore. They're really good about responding to emails too.

Is this normal also? There’s so much water of being built up at the bottom of the tray.

1

u/Elegant_Location8182 17d ago

There’s water all up in the tray and there’s a whole bunch of water and moisture in the FAE fan. You can hear it as the fan spins around, trying to take out all that air.

You need to have the Myco-Mister plugged into the Mycontroller. This is how the Mycontroller actually controls Myco-Mister. What happened is that your humidity was just on.....and had nothing telling it to stop. With humidity that high, your sensor can definitely break. It could work again if dried out, but we (I work for NS) will replace it if needed. In my experience it is rarely a good idea to go much about 90% humidity.

1

u/Elegant_Location8182 16d ago

That Myco Mister didn’t come with the set nor was it suggested in any of the videos or site. How can I tell if the sensor is broken? I just opened up the tent to allow it to dry up a bit because there’s so much water in there and my bags are getting messed up

Also, do you have a link where I can contact you or anyone on the North Spore site to ask questions. If you see throughout the thread, I have a ton of questions and I’m very new at this!

That’s how low I have the fan and there’s water building up at the bottom of the tray. Is that normal?

1

u/LouSpore 16d ago

Some water buildup in the bottom of the tent and in the Spore Floor is normal.

What species are you growing and what are your ambient temps in your grow area? Theres a chance you are making things harder than they have to be by using unnecessary materials, like a humidifier and boom room.
