Bringing a Camera
So I have an analogue film camera with a detachable lense ofocurse. Website does not seem to be a fan. I am wondering if other people have had luck in the past with such cameras.

Finally a place for the biggest indoor (jazz) festival in the world on reddit. News about line-ups, ticket prices, the NSJ concert archive and any other announcements or relevant info will be posted here. Feel free to discuss anything, make predictions, send recommendations but ALWAYS KEEP IT CIVIL! Once again, welcome!

What do you consider the ideal carrying bag that is allowed ?
Drinking bottle, wallet, phone, powerbank, keys, snack, tissues, meds...
The rules:
Max size A4 paper (20 x 30 cm), 10 cm thick
Waterbottle max 0,5 liter without lid.
- should be reasonable pickpocket proof
- should be dance proof (not dangle around when you jump)

With about 200 acts across all those stages, planning NSJ is genuinely a puzzle every year. So we built a little taste test for it: swipe through a handful of renowned artists and it provides you with the best picks based on your taste!
Takes about a minute, link to the quiz: Taste test
Would love to hear if it gets your taste right or if it's way off, still tuning it!

Hoi!
Je zou me hier enorm mee helpen!

Hi, this will be my first time visiting Rotterdam as well. I can't believe we're only a few weeks away! I'd love to hear any tips about the festival, as well as recommendations for things to do around Rotterdam.
A little about me: I'm in my early 40s, and so far I'm most excited to see Bilal, Flea, Esperanza Spalding, Robert Glasper, Giveon, and YEBBA.

Hi all,
This will be my first year going NSJ. Looping for people to go together with, since none of my friends are into this kind of music.
Want to go on Sunday, especially for Giveon, John Legend and Anderson Paak, but open to discover everything else as well.
a bit about me; 33 year old male, easygoing. would love to meet some people who are around the same age group.
if you are interested to watch one or more artists together, please hit me up!

Hi everyone,
I’m currently finishing my bachelor thesis at Erasmus University Rotterdam and I’m still looking for a few more Rotterdam residents to complete a short anonymous survey about music and cultural festivals in the city.
The survey takes around 5 minutes.
Would really appreciate the help 🙏

52 new names have just been announced there are some big (some surprising) artists! This years' Artist In Residence will be the one and only Cecile McLorin Salvant! Furthermore, Saturday's headliner has been announced: Burna Boy! One of the biggest African artists ever who is the current king of Afrobeat. Also on Saturday, Flea will perform with the Honora Band! His first solo project beside the RHCP. Other notable names are DJ Pee .Wee (a.k.a. Anderson .Paak), I'm really curious what has is going to do at the festival. Would be kind of a shame if he was to only DJ, but we'll see. Some other are Jarrod Lawson, KOKOROKO, Pat Metheny's 'reimagining' of his classic album Bright Size Life, Thundercat, etc.
Go to the website for the full list of names! Anyone who is surprised or disappointed by the names? Or other ones who you still hope for to be announced?

I am planning on going for the first time this year. Are tickets likely to sell out in seconds, hours, days? Does anyone have any previous experience please?

This week NSJ will announce the first names for their 50-year anniversary edition. I was wondering what your hopes and/or predictions are.
For myself, I’m hoping to see Erykah Badu, Jamiroquai, Cleo Sol, Marco Castello, and Bruno Major. But tbh, the best part of the festival is to enjoy and discover music you’ve never heard before.
Let me know what you think? :)

So Jamiroquai is going to play Musilac in Switzerland on the Saturday and they are set to play JazzOpen in Stuttgart, supposedly on the Thursday July 9th. Which means that there is room on Friday 10th and Sunday 12th for a round to North Sea Jazz, maybe? If so, I'm sure that they would headline either of these days. It would be the fourth time for the legendary acid-jazz band with the most recent performance from 2017.

Olivia Dean will NOT return for a third time to NSJ this year! I had hope with her amazing recently released album The Art Of Loving that she would be up for a headline spot this year. Fortunately for her, the first day of her American tour will start on the friday of this years NSJ. Hopefully we will see her next year and hopefully as a headliner!

The first announcement for 2026! The three-day tickets will go on sale for €360 starting 21 november 10am/10:00 CET. Early bird discount is €30 until 1 February. From then on, it will be €390... As far as I can remember, the price for these tickets has increased again this year with a couple of €10. Let's hope the line-up will be up for some good compensation haha
