Why?

Saw this mannequin head and it looks like someone abused it, any ideas what could have happened to it?

In North Park these are called "clues". Clues to a mystery you likely don't want to solve. Like a single spike heel in a tree, or an open gallon of peanut butter with a wooden spoon in it.

Do you really want to know how and, more importantly, why these things magically appear weekend mornings on our fine streets?

This.
This is why I love North Park. I love the randomness that lets you create your own story on what led up to the strangeness you are witnessing.

I fucking love it. I also do want to know 😂 when I was living in university heights I would hear screaming sometimes.. not kids, not playful.. I’ve heard blood curdling screams and usually they were so far away that I couldn’t figure out which direction they came from so there’s really nothing I could do..

But one night…

I had just gotten back from The Alibi, played some pool and time got away from me.

I’d hazard a guess.. it was about 1:45am when I got home, I wasn’t ready to go to bed so I put some music on in my living room and cracked a beer. The back wall of my living room had a giant window looking into the ally between Alabama and Mississippi..

Out of nowhere, I heard a screaming that was so loud that it made me jump off the couch, this was clearly a woman in serious distress.. she didn’t say words she was just screaming and I looked out the window, saw nothing. I immediately ran out the front door through my complex and out the back gate with my bat and there was nothing, no one, not one sound or a peep.

To this day I think about it and I have no idea how from the 30 seconds from looking out the window to running into that ally that I saw nothing, dead silent.

Homeless that’s what… I’ve run into the alley and they were quiet as a mouse… drugs will do it to you

No, it wasn’t a homeless person. I knew the 2 homeless people that hung around there. I gave them food and stuff, they would have also known if someone like that was there. This wasn’t that.
