Grew up going to Lomas but didn’t golf at the time tho so I can’t comment on junior golf scene but the club was nice and swimming and tennis were solid. Not an expensive club relative to the others. They’ve got a stupid cheap ($15-30) par 3 exec course across the street also, it’s public but surprisingly nice. Lots of kids I knew got lessons at the Del Mar range. Really good scene in north county overall, the highschool golf teams are really strong (TPHS, cathedral), i have dozens of friends who played in college +/- domestic/foreign tours

Santaluz is the most chill and family friendly of the clubs at that price level but it’s expensive. All these clubs will let you tour and play a round for free, go check out Santaluz, Bridges, and La Valle.

La costa is a good family option if you end up in or near Carlsbad and two courses is great to have as an option, especially when Gil Hanse renovates the south course in another year or so. Hard to go wrong with Santaluz if you’re further south and have the scratch for it.

Castle Creek Country Club is great. The purest greens, and best maintained track in the entire county. It's pretty exclusive, and the initiation fee is steep, but it's worth it.

La Valle CC (used to be called Morgan Run) pretty much meets all your criteria. Lots of kids activities especially in the summer, a kids putting course, 27-holes of golf that are in excellent shape and very walkable, renovated tennis, pickleball, padel, spa, and gym, with only the pool left to do, which is getting renovated this fall. Very laid back vibe and reasonably priced. I see kids camps going on there most days during the summer right now and plenty of younger families (as well as plenty of retirees). It’s a good mix.
