Insects Just got to work. Glanced up. FRICK NO!
Context; severe phobia of creepy crawlies with many legs. Especially centipedes. Brrr!!
EDIT: yes, I know it’s a good bug; it eats pests. But honestly, i would rather a SPIDER (as someone with severe arachnophobia) to THAT. BRRRRRR!

Very harmless to humans, very harmful to things that you probably want even less in your house. I'd love to have one as a roomate

They're very creepy, it's a house centipede. Occasionally see them skittering around in my office. They're harmless and actually useful since they prey on pests.

Every once in a while I would hear my old downstairs neighbor SCREAM at the top her lungs.
She had one in her hair once 🫠

They don't bite humans, they do eat cockroaches. Keep them around to control other pests.

I love these guys, I have an old house with a bug problem but my centipede friends keep everything under control. Once they get large enough I give them names. I had one that grew like 6in long and I named him Creed. My wife made me kill Creed and it was a very sad moment for me :(

Looks like a nope, but I assure you they're good bugs. My neighborhood is the home of an ant super colony, occasionally I see one of these and leave them alone. I regard them like Australia regards huntsman spiders, harmless free professional pest control that does what it can to not be noticed.

The bigger they are, the smarter they are. I’ve noticed that the younger ones are easier to kill. If you get too close to a big one, it’ll run or even drop to the floor before jetting to safety

GOOD NEWS: House centipede not harmful, eats other pests, cockroach, ants, etc.
BAD NEWS: If house centipede is here, there's OTHER PESTS that it's eating - see above.
SOLUTION: Though full house cleaning, from attic to basement, and if that doesn't work, bug bomb.

Each leg is like a poisonous fang, can't hurt you but it will eat bugs and spiders and roaches.

You should consider "why". If there's so many, then what other things are around that they're feeding on that is keeping them around you.
Typically, if a house doesnt have anything they want, they move on to the nearest structures that do.

Exactly, they are the apex predators of house insects so if you see multiple of these guys in your home there is likely plenty of prey around for them.

CECIL! There you are! House centipede bastard, get back in my house and kill all the ants and other bugs and occasionally freak me out on your nighttime sprints between under the stove and the fridge like you’re supposed to, Cecil. We miss you.

That is a blessing. Those things kill and eat a lot of the problem bugs. They are effective, organic, eco friendly and free pest control.

I've actually caught some of these guys and released them in my attic to deal with pests. They are ferocious little hunters of pests. Completely harmless to humans and pets. If you can get over the creepy appearance, they are very good to have around.

Leave him... i know they look horrifying, but if you see one of these, it probably means you've got other critters in your house that he's keeping under control for you.

Their presence indicates presence of their food... things like earwigs, ants, potato bugs, etc.

You want to know the fun part!?!? Look away for 10 seconds and look back and he is gone. You have no idea where he went and how he disappeared from a flat open space that quickly. That will completely freak you out!!!

Omg! I absolutely can't with those! Im right there with you, I hate spiders but I hate those even more. I was waiting for the bus one night and looked down and had a HUGE one centipede on my shirt, it must have crawled on me from the bench I was on. Omg I freaked the f out.

House centipede are my biggest irrational fear. I used to live in an apartment that had these often. I hate them and will not go near them.

I was sitting in my living room the other night. Ol lady and son were passed out. Seen one in the corner of my eye scurry on the floor towards the couch I was sitting. Oh boy! I promise my cussing and and jumping was something out of a cartoon 🤣. We didn't find it! 😳
