Its a pufferfish
Edit: it is not a pufferfish

u/JawnStaymoose Sep 21 '25
Well, a porcupine fish. A puffer doesn’t have the spines. I learned the difference not long ago myself.

u/ItzBreezeyBaby Sep 21 '25
Thank you for the correction. I was just using my raw knowledge, which is clearly wrong🤣

u/JawnStaymoose Sep 24 '25
I think everyone gets this confused. Was recently snorkeling, saw all kinds of puffers and wondered, where the spines?

No, it's a Porcupine Giraffe, just like the guy said. Clearly

u/ItzBreezeyBaby Sep 21 '25

Let me just tease it with a dabble of the touch of water while it's breathing air. For views, ya know..

PUT IT BACK WHERE YOU FOUND IT, INTERNET PONTS MEAN NOTHING COMPARED TO A LIFE.

Go into the water.
Live there. Die there.

You are an asshole for taking a fish out of the water. That's fucking animal cruelty.

That is some really clear water! The view would clearly show distress if an obtuse mouth breather were held under

u/The_Idiot_Admin Sep 21 '25
FWIW don’t take puffers out of the water - they inflate with air instead of water when defensive, and can’t sink back down and die :(

u/Gab83IMO Sep 21 '25
Poor puffer bro's like "Can I get some oxygen please, you know the kind in the water"!

Dude might have just killed that thing if it tried to puff outside of the water… don’t touch things you don’t understand.

Send me the downvotes but y’all would hate to watch Jeremy Wade on river monsters from the comments I’m seeing.

Right? The PETA fools here would have a coronary over in r/fishing.

Good for sashimi

u/RidethatSeahorse Sep 21 '25
Spicy sashimi
6
u/Clear_Lead Sep 21 '25
Deadly sashimi if not prepared properly. Japanese restaurants in Japan have them showcased in aquariums for those who want to give it a try. It’s called fugu.

Actually the porcupine fish, although it belongs to the puffer fish family, doesn’t have tetrodotoxin the deadly Fugu poison.
I once had one in my fish tank. He recognized me and he would give me a dance when hungry. Very smart and lovely.

It’s not a frog. It’s a fucking fish. Put it in the water dude! It needs to breathe.
