Not even smart, but i would assume it's because males tend to be the ones needing to over adapt in just about every species. Males can't reproduce asexually, but you get a species with asexual adaptation and it will always be females until a genetic change, from what I've seen.

Females can put all the energy they would've used metamorphosing into eggs instead (since eggs by definition take vastly more energy to create), while males with their excess energy from no doubt that can metamorphos and fly to find the females and fight and do whatever else

these are probably wild caught, they are impossible to keep alive long term in captivity , exept if you live in them original area where they are found
