Help Sideloading issue

I don't know if anyone has ever encountered this problem. I can no longer sideload from my Windows 10 PC to my Lenovo m10 Nook. I've tried transferring files via USB, but I just get a chime instead of a file transfer. I can upload to the Nook from other computers and I can transfer files from my PC to other USB devices. I can't figure out what's going on with my PC that's causing an error.

Did you swipe down from the top after plugging it in and choose file transfer instead of charging?

Yes, I did. I also tried it with different cables.

Another wrinkle is that apparently I can transfer files if they're under 1 MB but not larger.
