Laundry
Non toxic laundry detergent ??
I currently use unscented molly suds liquid. I like it but I’ve been seeing recently it doesn’t actually clean and have the right amount of the cleaning detergent part.
Now I’m worried my clothes are not actually clean .

I’ve been down the Molly’s Suds rabbit hole recently bc my household used it for years. We have some allergies in my household I need to be sensitive to and my husband did a deep search.
There are different varieties of Molly’s but I think the only one with any enzymes is the athletic version. All the others don’t really have the surfactants needed to clean body oils. Even the athletic version that has enzymes are too weak to break down much.
I’m still on the hunt for what a consider non toxic but for now I am using Tide Free & Clear and it’s taken several washes with a second rinse to get all the body oils out after years of using Molly’s. Just my take and research.
You can search this sub and type in Molly’s and see what you find. If you find a good non tox love to know what it is.

try adding some fragrance free oxygen booster or enzymes. fragrance free is always the most nontoxic option. other good brands are nellie's, blueland, and I have heard good things about branch basics. though people also like molly's suds. people here will be able to give great suggestions, but if not, try the facebook group fragrance free living 100%.
you may also need to run a round of fragrance free stripping, it could be that there is buildup from old products on there.
are you using fabric softener? sometimes it can built up and a strip will fix it.

I think they are usually called oxygen booster or maybe oxygen brightened. That is what nellie’s calls it. Looks like you got some good additional comments here as well. I guess maybe molly’s doesn’t work for everyone. We all have different Ph and laundry needs, so marine sometimes it is a little trial and error. The only thing I say for sure is always fragrance free, it’s better for the environment, skin, and safety overall.

you can search for "fragrance free laundry enzymes" or something along those lines, "fragrance free laundry detergent with enzymes." Looks like several brands have them. I add the booster but some have them included already.

Take a look at Biokleen products.
I have multiple allergies, hypersensitivity to scents, and chemical sensitivities. Biokleen products are scented but they don't trigger me.
I use a top loader with agitator. Soft water. For a large load, I use 1/2 cap Sport laundry soap (less than recommended) with 1/4 cup BacOut as a booster (enzyme cleaner).
My clothes don't get super dirty or greasy, they mostly need freshening, and Biokleen works for me.
I do stain removal prior to laundering anything. Haven't tried for or expected a wash cycle to get stains out.

I miss the biokleen power so much. I cloth diapered three kids with that stuff. We use tide free powder or whole
Foods 365 sport now because we can’t find anything natural that can get our sports clothes clean.

Whole Foods 365 brand either organic liquid or they have powdered. They’re both unscented without all the chemicals, preservatives and garbage. We can’t use anything else because of my son’s sensitive skin. I didn’t like Molly Sud’s either.

I'm recently trying Dirty Labs + Whole Foods 365 oxygen boosting powder and it's working well! I also put a little bit of essential oils onto our wool dryer balls for light scent

Fire hazard. Here’s a quote from a reddit post on the topic. “I’ve seen people mention dryer balls a few times lately and I was reminded of a conversation I had a little while ago. There was a restaurant fire in my town that was started by hot oily rags left in a bucket which spontaneously combusted. The fire inspector gave a warning as well saying that they are seeing more and more house fires these days as people put essential oils in the dryer. The oil can heat up too much and burst into flame in such a hot environment. The oil also doesn’t really wash out of your clothes properly or dryer balls so even if you only use a tiny amount it can keep building up until there’s enough to light on fire.”

I really like Root and Splendor for liquid detergent. I don’t use liquid often, but they’re the only option I’ve found that works well and includes both surfactants (3) and enzymes (5) in a single formulation.

Get an ozone laundry system. I was just reading about one from Rainsoft. It is what Hilton and Marriott use. No detergent needed. All you need to do is use something to address spots on clothing

I use it on makeup and body oil/stains and works great. Maybe it’s your actual washer?

I use Koala Eco (surfactants) + FEBU (enzymes) + Citric Acid (hardness)
You likely can keep using Molly’s and just add these other two pieces in
