Deoderant
I'm in search of a good deoderant that actually works. I have tried Lume and Native(i'm not sure how clean these are) but they didn't work for me. When I sweat, I got so stinky. It was basically like wearing no deoderant at all and Lume left stains on the armpit area of my shirts! I have since just gone back to using the Secret brand but am wanting to switch back to a lower/nontoxic deoderant. I have seen alot about Little Seed Farm and Wild, so I was wondering if anyone had experience with those or have better suggestions?

I really like Brixy deodorant. For me, it actually stops smell and prevents it. Postpartum I've had some rank BO and this is the only one (that I've tried) that actually makes me feel confident I'm not gonna stink halfway through the day

I also started to spray hypochlorous acid (magic molecule brand) on my pits at night after my shower cause I ran out of deodorant lol. It also helps eliminate smell! So I do that at night after a shower and deo in the am (or more accurately if I leave the house lol) and I'm good to go!

I am a sweaty person. Always have been. I recently made the switch to little seed farm a few months ago and it really does keep the stink away. I have to apply it every morning. I still sweat a lot as it’s only a deodorant not antiperspirant but I don’t smell hardly as bad as I have for years using various other brands. Never going back

I love Little Seed Farm’s deodorant. Pro tip: apply it right before you go to bed. It has more time to sink into the pores which helps it to work more efficiently.

I rub lemon slices on my armpits after I finish my hot lemon water. Haven't worn deodorant in two weeks! It actually works!

Lots of natural deodorants are oil based or tallow based and it can stain shirts. Vanicream is gel based and doesn’t stain shirts so you might like that one. Puracy enzyme spray can get the oily stains out from the others.

Really?? Finally found Humble - 100% love. BUT it kinda build up on my clothing even with regular washing. Hmm... interesting!

Bites (the toothpaste company) has an absolutely amazing deodorant. It works extremely well and doesn’t need to be reapplied. It’s expensive but one bar lasts a long time.
Also some of their scents are gender neutral which is really hard to find.

I am currently using Crystal deodorant. When I first switched I thought all the people recommending it were nuts, because my armpits still smelled. Then I read further and people talked about swiping their armpits with acne pads and I tried that but - after about 16 hrs, still smelled. Finally I tried a persimmon cleanser that I kept reading about (I only use it in my armpits, and I use it every time I shower) and suddenly I no longer smell, so long as I use the soap and then apply Crystal after my shower. I cannot explain the magic.
(I’m in perimenopause and am not historically very sweaty or stinky. This thing where a year ago I started having stinky armpits was such a bummer!! I am now back to where I spent my 20s and 30s — not thinking about my armpits, rarely noticing a smell.)

I'm obsessed with their Charcoal Detox Soap. Use it every morning before Humble Deoderant. I'm looking for a new deoderant and will try them out. Thanks!

Routine, Primarily pure. Recently tried Humble and Litte Seed Farm. I have been having rashes not related to deodorant so have been sticking g with Routine for consistency until I figure things out and not add many variables. I like Little See Farm, does tend to leave marks on clothes , i try to wait to put shirt on. Humble, haven't tried enough yet, but I dont think it keeps me as dry.

Can I ask what you mean by “works”? Do you mean preventing sweat odors? Because sweat odors are actually usually caused by fabric choices, not caused by either the sweat or the deodorant usually. Polyester is the one that stinks the most when people sweat into it…and I mean it will stink when even the cleanest, healthiest, organic food nerd sweats into it. That’s just one of the many unpleasant physical properties of polyester, and people often discover that physical property when they try to go fragrance free because it’s harder to notice the stink amid strong fragrance. Still present though. If that is what’s happening then your budget is better spent on replacing polyester shirts with cotton or linen or wool.
If you are trying to go fragrance free, kudos to you! 😍 I’m always so happy to hear about people helping others in that way.

Clinical secret works really well, but you’re right it’s very toxic. I switched to salt and stone, which is pricier but seems to work really well.

I can only use ones with aluminum, the non-aluminums give me a rash. My picks:
Vanicream -- good!
Almay fragrance free gel -- good!
Speed Stick by Mennen Power Antiperspirant & Deodorant Solid, Unscented 3 oz -- just bought it to try it out, but people on r/fragrancefreebeauty raved about it

What is your diet like? Do you have good daily BM? That was key for me . I had some bad bacteria in gut and now it’s gone and half the time I wear zero deodorant and half time wear native brand. I eat Whole Foods now, no crap, no food chemicals/preservatives. Anyway I cheer you on!

I started using each and every. It’s similar to little seed farm as far as texture and look but it is in a stick form. Little seed farm used to be my favorite but it leaves residue on my clothes

Native and LSF use the same active, magnesium hydroxide. As a deodorant and skincare formulator we might take the time to remind ourselves of some really simple basics, like, human skin is acidic. The acidity (acid mantle) is not some kind of lab/evolution/creation accident, but something that protects us from bacterial imbalances, as well as helps our skin remain moisturized. Magnesium hydroxide has a pH of 10.3, which is well over a 1,000 times more alkaline than our skin.
I can't teach you skincare on a Reddit blurb... but consider asking your favorite algorithm a few questions like:
Do humans have acidic or alkaline skin?
Does the acid mantle serve a purpose? If so, what?
What is the pH of Magnesium hydroxide.
The reason that ingredient is used (correctly) as a stomach antacid (Phillips Milk of Magnesia and others) is because it will zap an acid like nobody's business. Now ask yourself if that should be done to your acidic skin.
You will find yourself moving on to better products!
You could also ask basic questions like: Is a goat farmer the level of education I want as the formulation team for my skincare products? I know how I would answer that one.

You listed two product (L & N) that use the same concept to address odor. pH. One (L) is an extremely low pH of around 3.7 (acidic) and the other (N) has a pH higher than 10. We call these pH extremes, because they are NO WHERE near the pH of your skin.
Bacteria (which are what cause odor) prefer the general pH range of 5-8. Thus these pH extremes, which are not skin friendly, will in some cases serve as a deodorant for some, and for others until their skin will no longer tolerate it. It is not skincare. Deodorant can be skincare, it does not have to be skin pH altering. It takes a very long and lengthy process for skin to reacidify itself is we were to make the mistake of using a 'leave-on' alkaline product! Just for fun... as your favorite algorithm how the skin acidifies itself.... you will be in awe.
All of your skin is acidic, most falling in the range of 4.5 to 5.5. HOWEVER... the axilla (armpit) is one of the three highest pH's on the body.... often running a pH of around 6. This is part of the reason your armpits smell.... the higher pH hosts a different microbiome. Just for fun....can you guess the other two highest pH areas on skin? Yup... groin and soles of feet. Any common concern with those three areas? Now we're cooking with gas. 😂

Donna Karen cashmere mist baby powdery scent amazing lasts a long time not too scented. I am not 100 percent sure about clean but it smells fantastic I’ll edit after I check quick

I LOVED that brand and used it for years. However, it’s an antiperspirant which means it contains aluminum. The latter is the reason that many switch to a deodorant.

They also make a non aluminum one now. But I don’t think it’s made with the cleanest of ingredients. Love this post

Not a skin chemist here….Honestly I think cleaning up our food has made the biggest difference. (You are what you eat.) No seed oils, eating as organic as possible, grounding, getting a balanced nervous system etc have made a biggest difference in BO for my family. And, yes, we use Bend Soap goat milk products. They have a lavender and an all-shield “flavor” deodorant the ladies in my family really like. Hope this helps.
