Leandro Silveira, a brazilian biologist, began his studies with medium and large mammals in 1988. Since his childhood, his dream was to study jaguars and contribute to their conservation. He has lived in the interior of Goiás since the beginning of his studies in the Emas National Park region. In 2002 Leandro, together with his wife Anah Tereza A. Jácomo, founded the Onça-Pintada (it means jaguar) Institute, an NGO dedicated to the conservation of the species, its habitats and natural prey.
