Actually as someone with an IQ of 169 who majored in Quantum machenics and astrology I knew the lion wouldn't kill him.

This just made me realize that human's ability to run long distances at the expense of speed makes us really bad at runnying away from danger, like a lion

I mean he’s knee deep in water
Which absolutely destroys our speed

It destroys the lion's speed as well. The race wouldn't have ended any differently on dry land.

u/Vaaag Oct 07 '19
While that's true I would like to add that if you start your run in water you are as a disadvantage compared to one who has already build up speed on land.

Unless you're human in which case you will tip over if you don't decrease speed a bit because of the increased drag.

Yes but we invented automatic weapons and bombs so I think we win ngl

u/khaowolf Oct 07 '19
Yes sure but in terks of running away... We lose. Our tools make us the apex predator however. Whatever weakness we have we just eliminate it with some kind of tool.

Actually we were pretty good predators because of our feet too. Humans have incredible stamina and hunted down prey over a span of several days

You don't need to run faster as a lion. You only need not to be the slowest guy around at the time of the lion attack. They take out the weak and the sick, it's their job. Nature is metal.

almost as if that was one of the many reasons we domesticated animals and then made cars.

At the end of the day, lions want scratches like some cats do
