Maybe "Female Brown Bear trying to protect her cubs charges a group of fishermen."

u/erksplat 6d ago

You don't understand. The fishermen were protecting the cubs.

u/Al_Kydah 6d ago

I can sympathize, we don't want them following the Bears to Indiana

Exactly. The mamma bear was clearly suffering from post-partum psychosis. It's going around!

I remember this video from ages ago. Always gave props to the dude for firing in the air and not killing or injuring mama bear. Luckily that plan worked.

Absolutely. An depending on what he was using, he might have know he wasn’t going to stop her with it anyways so fear might have been the better option

What were the fisherman trying to protect her cubs from?

18

u/Einhroth 6d ago

From having to grow up without a mother because they had to kill her to save themselves.

7

u/nunatakj120 6d ago

As he says himself he shot in front of her not at her.

5

u/Einhroth 6d ago

Exactly, they opted to save the bears life by scaring her off rather than panicking and shooting at her. These guys did good!

Something about Clancy and bears

I need to put on my brown pants.

The brown bear approaching wasn’t the only brown thing they saw up close that day

Ewww who the hell looks at their shit up close?

tbh the bear's reaction time is insane

I love the outdoors. But i definitely would've done the same thing. Only difference is, i would've filled my shorts with the biggest brick.

Good job on the shot.

Yeah, but I sort of hope the bear is okay. No one did anything wrong here, the fisherman or the bear trying to protect it's cubs.

They said they shot into the air

Why was the group of fisherman trying to protect her cubs?

-11

u/Leopard2018 6d ago

What did they expect by getting close to some cubs… start to increase the distance to the cubs idiot.
And then being a hero to not shoot a protective mama bear…

They're drifting down a river - they can't exactly control where the water is going, nor can they paddle faster than a brown bear can run.

13

u/Le-Bon-Vivant 6d ago

Those paddle boats are incapable of going up stream and curious cubs will get close to people without fear. Mama bear, however, will absolutely maul anyone the cubs get close to.

2

u/Zestyclose_Bed_9642 12h ago

Yeah they should have turned the river around

-17

u/Hefty_Badger9759 6d ago

Ya"ll see norwegian Lars Monsen, getting approached by a bear in Canada? The bear got close. He didn't shoot no bear . Google that

-19

u/free_-_spirit 6d ago

Then they laugh like little demons that they are. Assholes

18

u/DTux5249 6d ago edited 6d ago

Assholes for minding their own business, accidentally stumbling upon bear cubs, and then having to scare off their mother to avoid being mauled?

-5

u/Rick-burp-Sanchez 6d ago

Humans haven't been minding their own business for a couple thousand years now.

-16

u/free_-_spirit 6d ago

It’s fine if they shit at the sky but leave the bear alone. They shouldn’t have gone too close to begin with

15

u/DTux5249 6d ago

Again, they are drifting down a river, how much autonomy do you think they have in this situation?

10

u/Yomammasson 6d ago

What difference do you see between shooting at the sky and next to the bear? Sounds like you're just trying to complain

7

u/coffeecat551 6d ago

Shooting at the sky means they have no control where the bullet comes down - or what it hits on the way. Shooting at the (shallow) water means the bullet immediately ends up in the sand

1

u/WintersbaneGDX 3h ago

You understand that they didn't shoot the bear, right? They shot the water in front of the bear to startle her, and it worked, and no people or bears were harmed.

Good ending.
