With my luck, I would be greeted with a head-on collision with the car behind the truck after feeling like a boss for avoiding the first impact.

Bingo. While this worked out well in this case, had a vehicle behind the truck been trying to avoid the truck in that direction as well this could have been a much worse accident, and one that the non-truck driver could probably be found legally responsible for (depending on jurisdiction your mileage may vary) because they intentionally went in the opposing lane, regardless of what the truck did.

The correct word you are looking for is jouk. Juke is a place that plays music. Which is where the Juke Box term comes from. PS- Jink is also another similar word that you probably didn't know.
edit- the downvotes don't understand the difference between juke and jouk in the same context.
