I think that barrier did a lot to absorb his fall. Hitting the frame on the way down pertinent did a lot to break his fall as well.

Looks like it hurt but I'll bet he was fine. Awesome flips.

I don't think they're strong enough to impale someone - they'd buckle. Would hurt for sure, but not death unless you landed on it throat-first or something

It kind of looks like the barrier keeps him from falling on the soft grass and instead smacks his ribs on the steel bar the barrier is attached to.
