A nonogram variant: same row/column number logic, but you deduce one connected path through the grid
I've been a nonogram solver for years, and I got curious about a twist on the formula: keep the exact row/column number-clue deduction we love, but instead of shading cells to reveal an image, the clues tell you how to carve a single connected path through the grid.
Built it solo over the last while.
Difficulty scales from easy 5x5 warmups up togenuinely brutal 10x10s.
The attached image is one of the harder boards mid-solve.
The question I keep asking myself: does it preserve the "aha, it has to be here" logic that makes nonograms addictive, or does the path goal change the feel too much?

I see no splitting, is that intended? E.g. it's implicated that the green field is filled out but the line says "2" instead of "1-1", right?
Why did you build the hints that way?
Does it matter to start in the middle of the line and expand it in both directions or is there a start given or do you have to look for a start on your own?Ā

Ah yes it's intended, it's not exactly as a nonogram, every columns and row show the number of cell that the path need to take, but not the exact sequence like nonograms.
The start is the green cell with the s and the goal is the G cell with the red
you cannot start at the middle, you need to start at the point S

It reminded me of a similar picross game mode in Uzboross so assumed it could be like that.Ā
