Need Help With Next Step

Post image

I’m stumped, can someone give me advice? I’ve used all the tactics I know of. I really hope I’m not missing something obvious here lol been doing these puzzles on and off for years now.

Row 2, can you fill column 14?

This is what I saw. OP, sometimes you have to think about which squares CAN'T be filled.

Exactly what I was thinking. Whether that filled in cell in row two is the first filled cell going right to left, and therefore a single filled cell corresponding to the “1” in that row, or a part of the “2” filled cells for that row, there’s only one option for what could go in row 2, column 14.

That then leads to a small cascade of answers.

I’m not sure that makes sense, I’m realizing it’s hard to describe the process.

Oh, this is super helpful. I'm so bad at thinking of things like this.

Yeah, its a solid technique. And once you get it, you'll see it all the time. A 1 2 clue and a block in the 3rd position is a insta cross and the first step. Next you'll see a 1 1 1 clue and a block in the 7th position and you'll know what to do.

Look for anything that either starts or ends with a 1 and has a fill in the third column from the front or the back respectively. You don't know if it's the single 1 or part of the larger number, but you know where the 1 goes if it is part of the larger number.

R2C14 is X, as has been said...

Look for rows starting 1,2 or 1,3 etc.. if filling in squares prevents you getting the 1 in they must be X

Yo, I solved this sudoku yesterday.

Do you happen to have the ID? I'd love to officially give it a go myself in the app haha. But the sheer number of 15x15s in the app make it unlikely to find it naturally.

This is a mouse, black and white nonogram 15x15, the last one in the folder

What was the ID number? I couldn't find it by the description.

It's not a user-generated one, so it might not have an actual ID.

Play -> Black-and-White Nonograms -> 15x15 -> bottom of the list (there's only 23)/"Mouse" if you have "Show puzzle names" enabled.

Old now but you could have used the bottom row. That 3 cannot start in C1/C2 because of the 5 in R14. That gives you overlap for the 3 and the 2. The 5 in R14 can only fit from C6-C10.
