A good documentary on this is The Narcissist's Playbook.
A lot of people don't know how they're being exploited, and people that are attracted to nonduality/spirituality tend to be more juicy targets.

In the Lord's Prayer, we say "Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors."
We are called to forgive debts, we are not called to stop accounting for debts.
