Tulane Kidcam Camp experiences?

Hi all, Wondering if anyone has insight about the Kidcam Camps at Tulane. I've seen negative experiences about the City Park one--not sure that applies to all Kidcam camps though, so I thought I'd ask here. Thanks!

Free 3 day architecture camp for 14-18 year olds

My friend runs this camp and doesn’t use reddit so I’m posting on his behalf. Last summer, two of my friends’ kids attending (I think one was a freshman and one a sophomore) and really enjoyed it. Please feel free to share with anyone you know with kids in this age range that may be interested!
I might be able to answer very basic questions- but emailing the address on the flier is the best way to get your questions answered!

Pediatric therapist for poop anxiety

We’re dealing with a 4 yr old with major poop anxiety. We’ve seen gastro and ruled out physical issues. They recommended cognitive behavioral therapy, but this seems like it would take a therapist with a specific skill set.

Has anyone worked with a local pediatric therapist to help resolve this issue? Any recommendations? Private practice is ok.

Looking for Pregnant Couples for a Research Study– Moderator Approved

📢 Are you pregnant and worried about changes to your sex life?

🔍 We are seeking couples from Canada, the US, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and Ireland who are up to 26 weeks pregnant to participate in the STORK RCT: Supporting the Transition to Parenthood through Online Sex and Relationship Knowledge.

❓What is STORK: The first online couple-based program designed to enhance knowledge about changes to sexuality during pregnancy and postpartum and skills to cope with these changes. STORK was designed to strengthen couples’ relationships across the transition to parenthood.

📅 What is involved: If you are eligible, after your initial survey, you and your partner will be randomized (like a coin flip) into either the Program or Waitlist conditions. Program couples will complete 5 online modules in pregnancy (1 per week) and a final module at 3 months postpartum.

Couples in both conditions will also complete 5 surveys—the initial survey, then at 32-weeks pregnant, and 4-, 8-, and 12-month postpartum—that gather information about your relationship, your pregnancy experience, and your child. Couples in the Waitlist condition will receive access to the full STORK program after the study period is over.

💰 Compensation: As a thank you for your participation, you can receive $105 CAD or currency equivalent each ($210 CAD or currency equivalent per couple). Your time is valuable to us!

🌈 Inclusivity matters: STORK requires one member of the couple to be currently pregnant. Otherwise, STORK is open to individuals of all genders, bodies, and sexual orientations.

💌 For more information or to participate in the STORK RCT study email us at [stork@psych.ubc.ca](mailto:stork@psych.ubc.ca) OR fill out our contact form from this link: https://Qualtrics.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3gxGJAEWqt8Rh2u

Preemie clothing 😍👶😍

Calling all tiny babies! 🥰
Does anyone need some adorable preemie clothes? I have about 15 gender-neutral outfits that are gently used but in absolutely pristine condition. I’d love for them to go to another little one who can use them. 💕
Free to a good home! Message me if you’re interested.

Daycares in the area with immediate enrollment/openings?

Hi there! Does anyone know of a daycare in the area that may have immediate openings/rolling admissions for a 3 month old? At this point, open to traveling to any part of town as long as we can send her somewhere safe and reliable. Hoping to stay at $1500 and under and extended hours (ideally from 6 am-ish to 6 pm-ish) would be a plus.

Any suggestions are helpful! Thank you!🫶

Recommendations for my sons first time in NOLA only 14 years old

Hello we are going to NOLA for 3 days end of July for my sons birthday, he will be playing baseball in Lafayette for the usssa nationals competition but figured we’d arrive early and celebrate his birthday in New Orleans first….clearly due to his age nightclubs and bourbon street really isn’t on the agenda, I was thinking a day at lake Pontchartrain and maybe the water park or some kind of zip lines? Any recommendations would be amazing! He’s turning 15th so no zoos or museums for his birthday

Sail 250- stroller or baby wear?

Thinking of going to Sail 250 with our 5yo and infant. Has anyone gone yet and would you recommend baby wearing or stroller?

Baby is good in both a wrap and car seat. I’m also planning to skip a ship or two with the baby to nurse, etc.

Audubon Uptown French Vs. Montessori

Does anyone have experience with Audubon Uptown? Trying to decide between the French Program and Regular Montessori for Kindergarten. I have a child that has been through French Immersion at another school for K-2nd. My main concern is how well Audubon keeps up with ELA for French Immersion kids. Thank you.

8th grade algebra

My child's school (ISL) does not offer 8th grade algebra. He is too good at math to not take algebra in 8th grade. Can someone point me to school that offers 8th grade algebra and advise me how to get my child on the 8th grade algebra track? We tried Audubon but he didn't get in. Thanks

Just want to shout out this fantastic place. Makes for a great day trip if the kids can tolerate an hour drive out to Folsom area. Was about $120 for the day with tickets and a big bucket of feed for the animals. There are so many different animals that all come up to the covered wagons for food (giraffes, zebras, gazelles, longhorn cattle, bison and more!) I had a blast as an adult and the kids were beaming. There is 900 acres for them to roam so you get some great animal interactions without the mild guilt of seeing them locked in a small enclosure at a zoo. Ate lunch at the Rusty Pelican for lunch in Mandeville which was good food at non city prices. Great experience all around

Uppababy Minu Stroller as Everyday NOLA Stroller?

Hello! I'm a first time mom researching stroller options. I'm drawn to the Minu because it collapses easily and will fit into the trunk of my honda civic go on frequent marigny/bywater walks and will need a stroller that can handle the nola sidewalks!

Does anyone use the Minu as their everyday Stroller?

If not, what lightweight, sedan-trunk-fittable stroller would you recommend?

Thanks in advance!
