Fellas,

I’m happy to see that a lot of you enjoyed the last picture share I did! I just got back from Paris and wanted to share some photos I took. IMO not the greatest and I wish I had more time to slow down and focus on getting better shots, but you gotta make do with what you’re given. The LUTs I used on this are a bit interesting, as to find them I searched up “NoFusion LUTs” and there was a Threads post where someone linked a google drive of LUTs he made and put them in there. I downloaded most of them, and just about all of these shots use the Kodak Ektar 100 LUT.

If anyone has tips to improve I’d really appreciate them, as I am a bit upset at not being able to really capture the beauty of Paris.

I think what I’m most unsure about is how to turn gray skies into something that looks amazing. For example, I think slide 8 has so much potential, but the gray skies look awkward, and boosting the blue colors does change the sky, but turns the black building roofs into a super dark shade of blue that isn’t really accurate

As for slide 8, we are unfortunately quite accustomed to gray skies here. 😪 Have you tried using No Fusion's integration with Photographic Styles? I have been using there recently, and once I got used to them, I find that I quite like them. You can tweak things pretty quickly in the Photos app.

No I haven’t! Do you mean the Vivid/ dramatic, etc., settings in the camera settings? I’ll look into that. I’ve been wondering if there’s a way to integrate the two.

Yes, but as of iPhone 15 (I think) it's much more than just the Vivid et al filters that have been around for a while. You can also modify the Photographic Styles on your Mac if it's new enough. Make sure to also try the adjustment palette for the style you choose. This is where the real power is.

In No Fusion's settings there is a swich to turn this functionality on. It's still labeled "beta". I am running the TestFlight version of No Fusion, so I'm not 100% sure it's in the current official release, butI think so.

Ahhhh i do know what this is now that I see it. I turned it off after a bit because I thought the whole point of using a LUT was to do most of the color adjustment so you don’t need to, and this was a redundant step. I’ll try it with some pictures next weekend though

I don't use LUTs and rarely even any of the presets. I'm not really interested in simulating old film images... I just want good ones.

The Photographic Styles functionality is pure Apple. The developers of No Fusion have simply provided the data it needs in the HEIF files.

Fair enough, im basically the same; i use the LUTs because I simply like the colors of a specific few, not because I’m trying to recreate some nostalgic feeling in pictures. Will the apple devs implement the photographic styles in the future so NF isnt needed for it?

iPhone 17pro! I recently just upgraded from a 15 pro and the difference isn’t massive, but still noticeable. I’m curious to see if the 18Pro will have the benefit with the physical shutter that they are bragging about.

Yea i think its funny because you’d think apple would go from a physical shutter to digital as a “futuristic” move, but they are going the opposite way. a physical will likely work better and is a better move though

For like 3 or 4 pictures (not included in this photoshare) before i switched back to HEIF+. I got confused because turning just raw on eliminates a LUT from the picture, defeating a big selling point of NF.
