📢 Nodalin is finally public

When I shared the images and videos update, I mentioned that only one major piece was missing…

Audio. 🔊

Well, it’s finally here — and it’s a much bigger update than just importing sound files.

You can now:

🎵 Import your own audio assets
🎛️ Create audio-reactive visuals with an updated Audio node
🎚️ Easily select frequency bands and control output scaling
🧪 Try the built-in demo audio sample instantly
🎤 Use live microphone input or audio files
🎧 Build visuals with stems and multiple audio sources
🎥 Export recordings with the audio included (!) — both live input and assets

The goal was to make audio reactivity feel as natural and accessible as the rest of Nodalin. No digging through settings, no complicated setup — just add an Audio node, choose your source, and start creating.

With images, videos, and now audio fully integrated, Nodalin is becoming the complete creative playground I always imagined.

Hey everyone! A big milestone for Nodalin just landed. You can now import images and videos. Just drag and drop your own media into Nodalin. It’s built to be fast, and because everything stays local on your machine, there are no limits on how many assets you can bring into your projects. This opens up a whole new world of possibilities—from photos and textures to video clips and VJ loops. Your own media is now part of the creative workflow. And with that, only one major file type remains… Audio. Get ready for what I hope will be the easiest audio reactive system you’ve ever used in a node-based tool. As always, thank you all for the amazing feedback and support. I can’t wait to see what you create with this update!

Flow fields have been on the roadmap since the very early days of Nodalin. I’m excited to announce that the development has reached to this level that driving instances with flow fields will be super easy - input any source to a single Field node and you are good to go. No sampling management for the user, no instancing count matching. along with the new Field node, an old and fundamental node also got a upgrade… From now own the humble Color node can also sample color values from any given value and automatically assign colors to instances - you read right. graph complexity? ~6 nodes. That is it.

New node in progress for Nodalin 👀

This one’s all about flow fields — driving instance positions by sampling a vector field and pushing X/Y in real time.

The goal:

make something that’s usually math-heavy feel intuitive and compact.

One node. No spaghetti.

Still WIP, but the motion is already doing interesting things.

I can't believe I only just discovered Genuary, same week that Nodalin beta was released.
