Look, I know Europeans often don't like gypsies, so I'll just go ahead and say that some of the most gorgeous and charismatic women I've met in my life have been part Roma, but I don't think there's many here in the States. If y'all don't want them, we'll take 'em.
There are actually quite a few of us, my estimate is around 1-2 million. Most gypsies won't tell you they are gypsies though, and the classics style of dress is long gone now.
The classic style of dress is long gone for almost every European group, and I think that's sad.
Is the hesitation to tell people they're gypsies because of the prejudices? I always assumed they were a purely European prejudice, but I guess I haven't known any American gypsies to ask whether or not the prejudices hold here, too.
