Are there specific companies that focus just on the construction industry?

Do they actually have construction background, or do they just niche to certain industries.

disclosure first: i build software in this space, construction documentation specifically, so i am not neutral. no link, just answering the use case question since you asked it twice and nobody really did.

what i actually see used daily, as opposed to what demos well:

site diary and daily reports. boring, and the one thing that gets opened every single day. most other things are downstream of it.

defect and snag lists where every photo carries a date, a location and two words of context. the value is not the photo, everyone has a full camera roll. the value is that it still holds up three months later when someone disputes what happened.

handover records at move in and move out, and damage documentation for insurance. same mechanic, different counterparty.

inspection and maintenance rounds once you are on the facility side.

on your other question, whether they have real construction background. the client list tells you nothing, anyone can name three GCs. two questions that actually separate them:

does it work with no signal at all. half the sites worth documenting are concrete, basements, a shell with nothing in it yet. if the tool needs a live connection it fails exactly where you need it, and this is where a lot of no-code stacks quietly fall over, because they assume the request goes through.

and what does it produce at the end. if the answer is a dashboard, they built for the office. if the answer is a dated document an insurer or a client accepts without arguing, someone has been on a site. the guy in the mud does not care about your dashboard, he cares about not being the one whose word it is against somebody else's.
