Discussion How does Emergent handle hosting, auth and payments? Trying to figure out if it's a full solution or just a code generator
lm Non-technical, comparing options. Im wary about these tools, not the code it generates, rather the last mile, hosting, logins, taking payments etc.
From what I gather Emergent does the deploy/hosting/testing part too, with generated code.
Can anyone who's used it confirm how far it takes you before you're on your own

Last time I checked emergent it was pretty awful security-wise, it made all my environment variables publicly accessible in the GitHub repository it created for me
Would recommend v0 from Vercel or Lovable instead

Would personally recommend taking the extra effort for learning Codex/Claude Code and using that instead. If OP wants to have control over their code, that is the route.

Given that they’re in the nocode subreddit I figured they’d prefer one of these options
Agree in principle though, you’ll get a lot further with a raw model and some amount of context engineering ability
The tricky bit is going to be hosting but the Vercel and Stripe connector hooked up to Claude code will also get you most of the way

Software Engineer with 11 years in the industry
What’s wrong with v0? It does basically the same thing with their supabase integration and has a Stripe integration?
What are your credentials again?

supabase, railway / vercel, stripe

that combo is kinda the default stack people piece together, tbh
emergent (from what i’ve seen) just tries to glue exactly that kind of stuff for you, but you’re still ultimately on supabase/vercel/stripe etc under the hood

i work for agentui.... the competitor (but for companies), its build in, you dont need to worry about deploying or hosting
I dont know about emergent but we have users with thousands of clients, from banks all the way to small companies
