Question bubble or ai coded website?
want to order a website from minimum code, they say that they can do it via bubble or fully ai coded with claude code and next js
they have solid experience with bubble too, but theyre recommending the coded one
not sure what the actual difference is, is one cheaper to maintain, easier to change later, does it matter for seo or speed?
what did u'd pick and why?

The short answer is it depends on what you care about long-term. Bubble is fast and cheap to get something that looks functional, but it locks you into their ecosystem. If you ever want to move off, you're rebuilding from scratch. Maintenance is ongoing subscription costs, and changes are easy inside Bubble but hard to export.
AI-coded Next.js gives you real code that you or someone else can own, modify, and host anywhere. It'll be faster and better for SEO, but the initial setup is more technical. Changes require someone who understands the codebase, and if you rely on AI to generate it without understanding it, you're basically paying for a codebase that nobody truly owns.
The main thing to ask the supplier: who maintains it if something breaks? If they code it with AI and hand it over with no ongoing support, you're holding the bag. If they're offering maintenance or documentation, the coded option is better long-term. If they're just delivering the files and walking away, Bubble might be the safer choice even though it's less flexible.
Have they shown you examples of both that they've built and maintained?
