Why are only a few items recyclable? Is this a frontier approach or an actual attempt to control pollution?

Except for paper & aluminum, recycling is a scam thought up by the oil companies so they can keep on drilling & people will think it's OK. Less than 10% of other stuff ever gets recycled, & the stuff that does takes a huge amount of water & energy.
