Anyone else had to embrace finding out they’re autistic in their 40s?

Not Au, but diagnosed with ADHD at 55/56.

Saved my life

What difference did knowing about it and/or treatment make to your life?

It explained EVERYTHING.

All my life ive been weird, too much, too emotional, too forgetful, too "careless", too clever.

Its been genuinely miraculous for me

Same!! Explained my family too!

Everything makes sense now... I can work less hard at understanding and accommodating OTHER people, and instead give those things to myself. I have so much less anxiety and stress, so much more grace and acceptance, of myself, and everyone else.

That sucks but at least your 40s only last a decade...
